If neccessary, yes. It'll all be good experience for our young riders in the years to come. What is the point in putting out the likes of Nicholls, Richardson & Stead - they're not going to get any better, are they? We might as well blood the youngsters. But you see Chris Harris getting better, do you?

So, I guess the question is - did Smith ride in the British Championships in 2002 ? I believe he did. But he didn't choose not to ride over here - he just couldn't get a team place. A bit of a difference. So, basically you're making your argument up as you go along then ? The rule should be "if we didn't offer you a place in a team then you can ride". Nicholls, GB captain in SWC and competiting in the Championship of Great Britain - if he doesn't get invited it's a scandal. Rico

It's a scandal that he's once again been gifted a nomination to the GPs.

And you think William Lawson will get any better ? In fact add Chris Harris to that his golden year was 2007 Lawson would be a fringe member of the squad. Actually, I missed out Danny King, so that would push down Lawson by a further place. And Harris had a terrible year in 2008, but there is still a certain amount of potential there. He's on a par with Mark Loram at a similar age and look what happened there. But Nicholls, Richardson and Stead are a waste of time. Dump them and try someone younger.

Qualifying round in Slovenia in 2010 then Rob?? If neccessary, yes. It'll all be good experience for our young riders in the years to come. What is the point in putting out the likes of Nicholls, Richardson & Stead - they're not going to get any better, are they? We might as well blood the youngsters. And at least they will put in 100% effort, something lacking from Nicholls & Richardson in last year's competition. The youngsters will wear the racejacket with a little pride. But if Mark Loram made a comeback, he'd go straight into my squad, maybe even as manager/rider. Loram is a different class to our current "top" riders. And he had a real pride in riding for his country. I presume with your thinking, if you were manager of Australia you would discard Crump, Adams, Sullivan, Shields and Watt because none of them are going to get any better.

They are quality riders and if it all clicks together, they stand a good chance of World Cup success. On the other hand, we don't have a hope in hell's chance for at least 5 years. So, in the meantime, we may as well blood the youngsters.

So Lawson is better than Wright ? or Allen ? Yes he is. Wright is another Stead in the making, and Allen can't stay uninjured for more than 2 seconds.

It's a scandal that he's once again been gifted a nomination to the GPs. It is - and even more of a scandal that Harris is back in. I feel Harris has the better long-term potential out of the two, but there's no way he should be in the 2009 series.

And then what ? in five years when we realize that none of your list(maybe excluding Woffinden) are up to the job, do we discard them for inferior but younger riders ? And all the Aussie riders are quality ? so Watt, Shields and Sullivan are all currently better than Nicholls ?

Which is the Aussies are good enough to win the World Cup, whereas we are not. So the policies of the two teams should be different. As championship contenders, the Aussies should put out their strongest team. As no hopers, we should blood the youngsters. Understand now?

Roynon had a nasty injury in 2008, but I believe he went throughout 2007 without any major problems. So he's got once in the last two seasons, whereas Allen has been injured on 20 seperate times.
