It did contain speedway last evening, but doesn't any longer. After watching that clip, I was thinking Ben Powell stole a load of beer, got drunk, hit someone and killed them with his car, and then ran away and hid. Then they mentioned the name of the driver and I realised the clip must have changed.

Remember Michael Lee being banned for riding the wrong way around a track & towards oncoming riders - surely Powell's actions were just as dangerous & pre-meditated. And if memory serves, refusing to pay the fine and arguing with the BSPA cost him a 5 year ban - and effectively ended his career. Although some might argue that his dabbling with wacky backy (no offence Wacks! ;D) and other banned substances was what cost him his career.

I think it was handed down circa 1984 and he was back on track in 1987. But not for long, since he soon went absent without leave or reason.

A banfor what he did was fitting punishment, so let's hope that the numpties at the BSPA ban Powell for his dangerous behaviour. Hmmm - perhaps we could get him to smoke something stange as well, to ensure a lengthy time out of the sport?

That link brings up a regional news programme for me - that contains no speedway. Have anyone got the right link - bearing in mind that I'm choosgin this week. Can't help with the link, but I did see the incident before the news content changed, and all the posts condemning Powell's actions were correct Genghis. There can be no other candidate for FOTW. He really should be Flapperjack of the season. A lifetime ban would be too good for the little scroat.

Couldn't agree more..........but Sheffield should take the Silver Medal for inviting him to ride at Owlerton!!!

Well, with Compton retiring at the end of the season there's a vacancy for a new resident on track psycho at Owlerton.

Ben Powell, what a tosser. Gets my vote Exactly. Now let's hope the BSPA/SCB give him a very very lengthy ban. He is a THUG.

Matt Ford for jumping at the chance to make a quick buck & appying to run the NYC at Poole next year - if the suggestions are true, his application was submitted to the BSPA 3 days after Tim Stone's death.
Some may call that enterprising, personally I think it's all a bit sick and shows a complete lack of morals.

Well, you can search and search all you like, but you'll not find one word of criticism directed at BSI Speedway or the uber-golem in today's Speedway Star. I guess Philip Rising values his place on the gravy train more than he values integrity.

Could have told you that Sube from his programme notes he used to pen for Reading during the Bull shit Dogs era. In fact, I swear his middle initials are KY
