Whole stadium development pretty much depended on Casino getting go ahead Kev. Money from backers of casino needed to fund the project.
If work starts this month on the new stadium it's expected we'll move to the new partly developed stadium at the end of June. Lease on Smallmead runs out then, although Council have hinted that they will extend this on a short term basis until new track is ready.
Whole complex expected to be finished early Summer 2009

Within spitting distance of Smallmead!
Probably less than 1/2 mile north of current stadium. Will still be on A33 relief road heading from J11 of M4 into Reading town centre.
Site is an old trails park that closed down a few years back after a young boy was tradegically killed there, and again right next to the civic amenity site!
Hopefully we'll have a different route into the stadium rather than the road used to access the tip, as traffic ques during the day all week to access this.

Hopefully Braveheart, but I won't get home until at least 7pm and then have to get back across country to Reading.
All depends on timings & weather really - are you going to be there?

Wouldn't normally go to that sort of thing especially as I'm on my own but I've seen the bargain of the £4 trip to IOW. Just need to ask someone special if they want to come with me to IOW.

Wellie obviously been on the sauce toinght then Braveheart Thanks ML, great to be back in the PL, and long may it continue. Would be good to meet you if you come down to Smallmead this season, there's a few monarch fans (and the odd Glasgow fan) who it would be nice to catch up with.
