One wonders if there's more to all of this than meets the eye? What does one wonder

It seems Kenneth has told his Danish club, Esbjerg, that he's still in too much pain to ride for them on Wednesday. I guess this means he won't be making an appearance tomorrow, when the Panthers face Swindon.

According to the Swindon website Bjerre is riding on Monday. But then, it's not a KO Cup match is it. If so he's obviously picking to ride in the more important meetings and sitting out the occasional one to stop overdoing it.
I know he's getting a lot of stick, but surely that's better than not riding at all?

According to the Panthers promotion last Thursday - he was riding verses Lakeside... despite a forum member telling us that he would not be riding! That forum member also rents a room to another member of the Panther Danish contingent! That is just plain wrong! (and factual! )

According to the Swindon website Bjerre is riding on Monday. According to Pratley, he also thought he was riding last Thursday. But then, it's not a KO Cup match is it. If so he's obviously picking to ride in the more important meetings and sitting out the occasional one to stop overdoing it. I'd have said the KOC was more important to Peterborough, given that they're third from bottom of the BEL, and Coventry have four meetings in hand over then. Frankly, I think someone riding with a broken thigh (pin or not) is stupid. I'm sure it must be bloody painful as well, but I'm afraid I have little sympathy if Bjerre can overcome the pain for everyone except Peterborough, including a meaningless GP.

The GP isn't meaningless to the riders. Witness Ed Kennett punching the air when he qualified from the British Final. Might be meaningless to you, but it obviously isn't to Kenneth Bjerre.
Let's see if he does ride Monday first. If he does, maybe he'll deserve some credit. I agree that he really shouldn't really be riding at all - so why condemn him for missing some matches? As long as he's able to ride on a reduced schedule you can hardly blame him for doing so. Plus, Peterborough did have a faility, which indicates to me that his absence was accepted as genuine.

Agreed Grachan.. The guy wants to be a SGP star! and future SGP Winner and SGP Champion ... good for him! He is still a flapperjack though IMO! But someone (persons) took the piss out of the Peterborough Panthers paying supporters last Thursday... So I for one wont take that chance again this monday!

It might be one thing if Bjerre was a regular GP rider, but what's the point in risking further injury for a one-off wildcard appearance? Plus, Peterborough did have a faility, which indicates to me that his absence was accepted as genuine. Could have been granted on the grounds of withholding services.

Could have been granted on the grounds of withholding services. In which case he'd have been given a ban so wouldn't be able to ride Monday anyway I believe.

Ken's not riding in Denmark this week because he is going for medical examinations. Apparently there have been complications with his leg healing.
