Poole Castle Cover Pirates who were hoping to be back to full-strength for tonight's league meeting against top of the table have received the news that the exciting young Polish rider Karol Zabik has been admitted to hospital suffering from kidney stone problems. With Adam Skornicki back in the side for the first time since crashing at Swindon on 27th March the Pirates were expecting a full seven man side even though the interim averages will have enforced a line-up change with Skornicki dropping to reserve to replace the elevated Freddie Eriksson. So this latest news is a major setback for the Pirates and Zabik, who is in desperate need of track time to try and ride himself out of the recent rut which has saw him fail to score from five outings at Coventry last Friday and then eliminated from the GP and European qualification rounds on Monday. Poole will now operate rider replacement for the absent Zabik which means his rides will have to be covered by Skornicki, Zibi Suchecki and the rider one place above him in the averages which is Freddie Eriksson.

How lucky is that for Eastbourne? They could turn Poole over.

I shouldn't really be rooting for Eastbourne, but a win over Poole always makes me smile...so I'll be shouting for the seahawks tonight..

Zabik really isn't having the best of times, is he? It looks as if Torun have dropped him (and his father is the team manager there) and things aren't going too well at Poole. You do wonder how long he'll last. Ultimately, making it in Poland is the key to international recognition for the guy.

I would like nothing more than for us to beat the Primates on home soil but Brundle and Gustafsson are going to have to be a hell of a lot better than they were on Good Friday for us to win tonight.

Even worse for Suchecki - he's withdrawn from the meeting after a fall.

Well with Holder seemingly having engine failure, it's looking better...

Poor Zibi, things really not going well for him after all at Poole . Shades of last year I'm afraid, but suspect he won't last the season with Poole Hope he and Brundle are OK

You begin to wonder how long both Suchecki and Zabik will last with the Pirates. Zabik not getting into the Torun team at the minute (and the team is managed by his father) and future success will more or less depend on impressing the Poles, not the Pooles.
