No problems. I've added the winning team's riders to that section.

Is anybody able to tell me ( actually Cousteau wants to know) if Colin Pratt rode in the 1968 WTC? No he didn't jacques, but he did ride in the 1966 and 1967 Finals.

aha, thanks Kev . Something else if you don't mind, we've heard mention that he was involved in a very serious accident many years ago(non speedway) where some of his team mates were killed. Riding for Hackney perhaps?

Riding for Hackney perhaps? You're thinking of the Lokeren Road Disaster as it's become known in 1970. Have a look here for more details www.speedwayplus.co.uk/lokeren_overview.shtml

Why does the Top 3 in the World Finals only go back to 1949 hasn't anyone heard of Lionel Van Praag ? The reason pre-war World Finals weren't included was because they used a bonus point system to decide the winners. But just for the record, and schumi will no doubt update her list, here goes:- 1936 Lionel Van Praag (Australia), Eric Langton (England), Bluey Wilkinson (Australia). 1937 Jack Milne (United States), Wilbur Lamoreaux (United States), Cordy Milne (United States). 1938 Bluey WIlkinson (Australia), Jack Milne (United States), Wilbur Lamoreaux (United States). 1939 Not staged due to the outbreak of WW2.

Apparently the team were: Barry Briggs, Ivan Mauger, Nigel Boocock, Martin Ashby, Norman Hunter. How does that work then? I thought Ivan was from New Zealand? Did you only have to ride in the country you represented in those days? Yup Mauger and Briggs represented GB in thoise days because they were from the commonwealth , which is why they won the British Finals back then too . Weren't they affiliated to the FIM through the ACU in those days? That is why NZ & Aussia riders rode for GB and qualified for the World Championship through the british rounds i thought. But then with a good crop of youngsters coming through i.e Peter Collins,Jessup,Simmons etc they basically dumped the commonwealth riders.Think Mauger was pissed off about it at the time. Not sure though

That's a pretty accurate summary if memory serves me right mac. It has to be said that the Aussies in '76 and the Kiwi's in '79 certainly managed to give us the bird in the end though.
