Anyway getting away from wheres and whatfors on Planet Pearson . I nominate the imbecile in Australia who gave me the fright of my life today , by announcing the Messiah had been taken to hospital with a blood clot on his lung . Which was bullshit as that kind of thing doesn't affect superbeings .

Not sure which one it was but the commentators were Nev Riseley, Brendan Gledhill and UK speedway journalist Chris Seaward.

Sorry Subdei
But that is not constructive criticism...its insulting.......Pearson was right to remove it no doubt...If you can put your argument and criticisms of him better then what do you expect

But, as always, you let your anti-Subedei prejudice cloud your judgement. And I let you do it, don't I? Do I remove the twaddle you write? No.

Anyway, as far as I can tell, my comments constructively suggest Pearson stops screaming and stops insulting the intelligence of the viewers. I'd say that's constructive criticism, wouldn't you? Look, for the whole of last season, Pearson seemed to have paroxsyms of orgasmic delight while commentating on dreary Elite League meetings. He told the audience they were watching wonderful, classic, interesting speedway. That was insulting out intelligence. And he knew it. Witness his subsequent blog on the Sky Sports site, where he said: "The 2007 season was, in my opinion, a bad one for the sport domestically." And as I've said, what annoys about my comments being removed is that the site, which is part of his "on-line CV", doesn't make it clear to people that constructive criticism is removed. Thus, as usual, he misleads people.

It's also, to me anyway, the fact that he goes so overboard about the mediocre races that it must surely put potential supporters off the sport. If you sat there watching a totally dull sporting event and the commentator was telling you how wonderful it all was surely you'd think 'I obviously don't 'get' this sport so it's not for me!' I'm not suggesting he should say 'well this is shit tonight' but, as Sub says, it's the fact that he's creaming his boxers over a from the gate, riders 30 yards apart race as though it was the best thing ever!

Sub
I have nothing against you at all mate...But in my opinion i think you like the notoriety...you like being the bad boy...its kind of a showing off thing....You pick on a subject or person and you are like a dog with a bone and refuse to aknowledge anyone who may differ from your opinion...In the past i have been wrong with things...and have stood up to be counted...but if you honestly believe that your comments on Pearsons guestbook were constructive criticism then ...sorry you are wrong...and truthfully i believe most people on here if that had been said on there guestbook would have been pretty miffed

But lupus is absolutely bang on. If I didn't have a pre-existing interest in speedway, I'm damned sure that listening to Nigel Pearson wouldn't get me out of my chair and to my local track. I'd be sitting thinking to myself, well, if that's fantastic speedway, I don't have any intention of finding out what mediocre speedway's like. The problem with sensible, well-constructed comments, like mine, are that they don't sit well with Pearson's elevated sense of his own self-importance. Scoop? Don't make me laugh. More like Poop.
