Could Daniele Tessari, Adam McKinna and Guglielmo Franchetti be the riders who complete Berwick's line-up for the 2008 season? Well, I suppose we'll have to wait and see how accurate this latest rumour is, won't we?

Tessari has definate potential , never heard of Franchetti ( didn't he play centre-half for Inter Milan ) and forget McKinna as he will not be following in the family tradition of producing half-decent speedway riders . I know the possible rider pool has drained considerably , but there must be better options than that floating around . If the Bandits did use those three would that not leave them somewhat under the points limit ?

I think Berwick have around 13 points to play with, so if we assume Tessari is around 4.00, Franchetti would be 5.00 and McKinna is around 3.00, they'd not be that far off the limit.

Having checked, my programme from 11 May, 2007, has Tessari's average as 3.43 - it may have changed after that, I don't know. Any which way you look at it, if they are the riders and you add them to the announced riders, it doesn't look pretty, whether the averages stack up or not.

No it doesn't , but with Waites reputation for weilding the axe you could be looking at a new set of riders by about May . ;D

For one thing, it's not really going to do them much good in the border badlands between the heathens and civilisation (where they speak a unique language). And for another thing, they're not likely to be around very long.

With the announcement this week that Anderson's will be sponsoring the Bandits there is a strong possibility Bergstrom could be back.
Another couple of name that have been suggested, Matej Kus, Michael Coles, Carl Stonehewer, Paul Clews and Scott Smith. Not sure how much truth there will be in any of these names, but i'm sure PW will yet again wait untill the last minute before announcing the final lineup.
Any ideas on when teams have to be completed?

I think we're just waiting on Berwick and Newport - the rest seem to be all ready to go.

Adam McKinnna is a good signing in my opinion. He Does have the potential to become a good speedway rider. His career so far has been blighted with injury, so with any luck he can stay clear of any this season, and rack up the points for the bandits.
I remember reading posts regarding Sean Stoddart "Never making it" Look at him now............
Give him a chance, he wont disappoint.
