Boo, hiss, hiss, boo. But hopefully some far-sighted promoter will sign the Weirdity and reap the benefit of having the second wonder of the speedway world riding for his club. Or, hopefully like the rest of the under-achieving Poles in this country, he will not be wanted by anyone and have to fuck off back to Poland with his tail between his legs.

Makovsky? No, I rather fancy that young h meant Lubos Tomicek. And furthermore, I rather think you know that.

Now that the promoters(!) have decided the rules for next years PL, what are the chances, do you think that we might hear some positive news before christmas in the Bandits? After a terrible year for the cruel, crazy, town i am looking for some positive news for next year because at this moment in time i am finding it very hard(as others no doubt are) to get/be excited about next years racing at SFP. Its is very mixed time to be a Bandits supporter, for many reasons but mostly can we really afford another season like the gone. GM

PW isn't one to dive in willy nilly . Think you'll have to be patient till the middle of March mate if he runs true to form .

Aye, as per bloody usual. Wait till march then the riders that are left with no team places. Go to Berwick or no ride this year. I would say though paulco is that PW really cant afford to wait that long IMO because the supporters are pissed off with waiting that long, then struggling the whole year. PW cant do his re-strengthening tactic no more.

This was posted on the BSF: Berwick have confirmed that five riders have been released and made available for other clubs to sign on loan for 2008 after being told their services would not be required by the Bandits next season. They are Stanislaw Burza, Jac Rempala, Andreas Bergstrom, David Meldrum and Arlo Bugeja, who of course only rode a handful of meetings towards the end of last season during the injury crisis. Of the remainder, no decision has yet been made on Michal Makovsky, although a question mark still hangs over his future at Shielfield. Peter will make a decision on Michal after the annual conference when the new points limit is set. As for Sam Martin, he is not a Berwick asset and he reverts back either to Oxford or the BSPA. Meanwhile, Peter has slammed some of his riders who have turned up the opportunity to attend tonight's end of season presentation dance and apologise to the fans in person for their failings on track in 2007. David Meldrum is the only rider expected to put in an appearance.. "I am extremely disappointed that some of the riders just couldn't be bothered to put in an appearance," he said. "I know most of them are out of the country, but for some of them it would only have cost them £70 to get a cheap flight. Someone would have picked them up at the airport and their accommodation would have been provided. "But these guys let us down on the track last season and now they have let the fans down again. "It might sound harsh, and it might upset some people, but I am only telling it like it is. "The riders I am talking about were paid well to ride for us last year. They came across when they knew they could earn some money. As everyone is well aware we had a disastrous season, one of the worst in the club’s history. The presentation evening would have been the perfect chance for them to stand up in front of the fans and apologise for the way in which they performed. Had they done that I think they would have won a lot of respect from the supporters. "But as it is they can't be bothered and that really annoys me. It just shows that nowadays some riders don't really care about what goes on outside the meetings."peter waite... get on the phone to me!

After a troublesome year in 2007, 2008 gets off to a bad start without a wheel evening turning. The madcap world of the crazy, zany, cruel town , its very own speedway team have lost their major sponsor for 2008. After 3 years of backing the Bandits, Anderson's Butchers have withdrawn their financial support of the Bandits for 2008, this is indeed sad news as the Andersons are very much fans of Berwick. I thought it was only two years - 2006 and 2007. Kirkland Carpets were the sponsors in 2005, as far as I recall. Anyway, a falling out with young Waite? Andersens wanting to call more of the shots in the cruel, crazy town?
