Well, four days to go to the supposed big event and yet there don't appear to have been many, if any, announcements regarding the new line-up for the 40th anniversary meeting.

Looks like the weird wonder Jacek Rempala is back "on side" then. No real point in defenestrating him now, since the SCB and BSPA have fucked everything up.

Jac will get back in the team what a fucken joke. You're not wrong there. But Waite's not to blame for this. He wanted Rempala and Truminski banned for 28 days and the SCB and BSPA fucked him over. People demand that action is taken against these transient types, extracting the urine out of British speedway, but when Waite tries to do just that, the rug is pulled from under him. Now Waite has fuck all to gain and a lot to lose from shipping Rempala out thanks to the SCB and BSPA.

Maybe it's time Peter Waite stopped going for the cheap option employing Poles and Czech riders all the time. It's not the first time they have supposedely let Berwick down and it won't be the last either as their first priority will always be their home country.

You will like it here twocandan, no censorship at all hardly, you can pretty much say what the fuck you want. Shame the line up is only 12 riders, but it looks a decent field. Shields must be favourite so far.

I guess that depends whether Adam "shite guest" Shields or Adam "Lakeside" Shields turns up, doesn't it? I rather think Doolan will do well and nick it, but both Shields and Doolan will, at some stage, be confounded and overwhelmed by the true weirdness of Jacek Rempala.
Edit:
With apologies to King Jamie for nicking his trademarked "shite guest" phrase.

No Messiah thought he would have been a certainty for this meeting . Probably needs to conserve his energy for dealing with those pesky Monarchs at the weekend .

Just one more name to go now, as CHRIS HOLDER has been named as rider number 11.

The line-up is complete:
Berwick Speedway’s big celebration meeting to mark this, their 40th year racing the sport in the Borders, makes a second attempt to run this Saturday night (August 18th) at Shielfield Park at the usual 7 o’clock start time.
The R.L. Smith and Sons Limited Plant and Skip Hire Berwick Bonanza will be desperate to foil the Gods of Meteorology by making sure it’s a good warm and dry night following the event’s devastatingly disappointing postponement from June.
The 12-strong field is now complete with two more Australian stars being added to the list on Tuesday.
Chris Holder has agreed to take part which has seriously upped the calls of the field on this night as this Australian is top notch indeed being THE hottest property in the Premier League in 2007, racing with the Isle of Wight as well as making vitally successful appearances for the Australian World Cut squad recently. Instantly goes in as a meeting favourite without a doubt.
The final place has gone to a young Aussie entering his 20th year and has been described has having a huge potential, not only in his homeland but overseas as well and he is Kozza Smith. Known as the Hunter Valley Charger (due to that area of New South Wales’ strong connections with horse breading) he has had some excellent results none more so than in the recent U-21 Australian Final at the Gillman circuit where he went into a run-off with Robert Keiszak for 4th place but fell early on ending up 5th. He’s a thrill-a-minute racer who’s on the lookout for a 2008 Premier League team place. The big speedy Shielfield track could well suit him down to the ground.

Holder fantastic stuff. If Smith is any thing like good sign him Waite Wortman to and get the Camel and Jac out.

Young Matej Kus looked quite useful at Ashfield at the end of last season . Ok it might have been just CL guff he beat , but he looked a tidy wee rider .
