I wasn't bullying anyone Jim, and Schumi knows that's not my style anyway, don't put words in my mouth.

Tell it like it is-Aaron Neville www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jM5U_Q018sBeautiful song Mentioned the other day Lee Hazlewood & Nancy Sinatra -Sand and their version of Bang Bang is imo better than Cher's original. An instrumental should be in as that was the decade of the instrumental Duane Eddy's Because They're Young.Pity Link Wrays Rumble was just a couple of years too early Francois Hardy epitomises the 60s to me and this is great,if French is allowed. ;D www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc4sL3wsYSYAnd Dolly Parton had a couple of big hits in the late 60s This was on her 1967 album www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHdCGLL9qV0

All done and dusted now.
Thanks everyone for your suggestions, some of them I used and the punters seemed to enjoy it, so good job all round.

The 60s - where do I start?
Anything by Del Shannon (Runaway) or the Everley Brothers (Temptation). Then for something rarely heard today - Speedy Gonzales by Pat Boone, Hello Mary Lou by Ricky Nelson, Surrender by Elvis.
Incidentally (not in the 60s I know) but did you know there's a song called "How could you believe me when I said I loved you when you know I've been a liar all my life" Is there any with a longer title?

Oh dear, I missed all this, never mind. Hard to believe that dear old Lonnie Donegan has not got a mention here! He had a hit with "Pick A Bale Of Cotton" in the early 60's. However, it was originally performed by this guy in 1945! Hard to believe, but true. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oE9QYkkxyVQ

Badge mate . Don will send you to the predictable step same as me . Good choices though . ;D predictable step is that as bad as the naughty step? ( lol how can I be predictable...I'm an Ipswich Witches,Kim Jansson and Tobi Kroner fan )I know officially this thread is defunct, but on the radio this evening they played Credence Clearwater Revival - (Ithink it's called ) The Bend???, anyway fantastic....The Who are on at the moment - My Generation, and a little while ago the "new" version of Joni Mitchell's - Yellow Taxi, by.....Joni Mitchell, and it was even worse than the 1st version

My old man is a fan of 60s music, and Brummie bands in particular. I think everyone has heard of Flowers in the Rain by The Move (first record played on Radio One) which is one of his favourites. I would plump for a track by the Idle Race - I know it as Lemon Tree but it might be Here We Go Round The Lemon Tree.
I was born in the 60s but can't remember much in the way of music until Glam Rock in the 70s and the advent of Donny Osmond. The 60s were a crucial time in the history of music - The Beatles, The Stone, The Kinks (and lots of other bands starting with The) laid the foundations for so much that we her today, or even in the 70s. Without The Beatles - no ELO, no Oasis. That's not to say that any other groups/artists didn't also have a huge influence.
