Rob, I am speculating here that there will be a section (maybe a whole chapter perhaps) in Ivan Mauger's new autobiography dealing with Kenny Carter as you would expect; with Ivan being his guru at the 1982 world championship etc.
I do not know however, which slant it will take of course, but I am interested to know depending on which way Ivan might go on his rider and his personal thoughts and feelings, about the tragic events surrounding the events of Kenny's demise would it change your point of view?
With an input and observations of such a great rider and human being as Ivan?
Just interested to know.

Jim, Ivan's views are already clearly on display in the Kenny Carter book... he is one of the major interviewees. All the best Rob

Buy the book!! ;D ;D ;D All the best Rob Funny that Rob, but I was going to say that I would be purchasing the book at the first opportunity. But I also deduce that it would have been predictable as much as your reply was. Don't agree with your point of view then does he then? ;D

All the best Rob i thought Ivan was being pretty conservative with his views in the book. i look forward to his autobiography

Just got the new Backtrack, there's a quote from the book about Hans Nielsen ..."But he totally hated Hans Nielsen. If he'd had a chance to 'do' Nielsen after that,he would have killed him.But Hans never got involved in anything like that with Kenny again-he knew what would come his way."..so what was the incident?
As far as Kenny goes,I'm a Sheffield fan and he was Shawn's great rival and aslong as Shawn beat him that was fine!.I certainly never had a problem with Kenny.I do remember going to Owlerton the next day after the 'events' the night before,a very wierd atmosphere...

I got the book as a birthday present, a bloody good read.
I've always preferred the riders who "stir it up"
I remember being told a story by a long deceased neighbour who was in Ipswich Hospital in 1982 the same time as KC.
All he could hear was F this, F that, at the nurses and doctors all the time.
He told me he got out of bed and "had a word" with him.
My response was "yeah, whatever"
By the way, hello, this is my first thread!

By the way, hello, this is my first thread! Hello, welcome to a fellow Witch. By the way, do we have to "guess" who you are on another forum too, like we did with another "witch"? ;D

You can try. I have 2 names. one is for BSF, the other is for the Ippo forum. A coconut, goldfish or a Top of the pops LP if you get one right, or any prize from the top shelf if you get both! ;D
