Kennett and Woffinden? I can only guess the FIM are trying to regain interest by going for the most inarticulate and offensive interviewees, to add to the controversial mayhem caused by the Russian, and biased refereeing decisions. I guess if nothing else it will detract from the poor quality of racing we've had lately.

There's an article in one of the Swedish papers today (folkbladet) which says that the news Eddie and Tai have received a nomination IS NOT true - they are being considered but nothing is certain yet.

And further to that, BSI's media manager has said the nominations won't be announced for a few more weeks, and that we should hear by the end of November. Perhaps more interesting is that they are considering giving one of the British nominations to another Pole (I've heard Miedzinski's name mentioned). Common sense could prevail - we don't deserve any, by right.

This has got me thinking.......
Clearly when the nominations are handed out, a riders' nationality does have a bearing on his success. The organisers try to ensure that the GPs aren't overloaded with riders from any one country and, from a marketing viewpoint, it's good to have many countries represented; particularly the host nations.
My question is.......if there were no Brits riding at Cardiff, would it reduce the events' attendance figures?

My question is.......if there were no Brits riding at Cardiff, would it reduce the events' attendance figures? Unfortunately I believe it would ! For me personally it wouldn't bother me in the slightest (I would be wearing my Polska t-shirt anyhow ! ;D), but I guess for a lot of fans they might not bother if there were no Brits..... Which kind of really annoys me tbh......surely they go to watch speedway, and to support their favourite rider who may or may not be British. I'm all for being Patriotic to a certain extent, but it irritates the pants off me when fans get on their high horses if you are British but supporting a Danish or Polish rider whilst at Cardiff...

The "wild card" would ensure British representation at Cardiff. But I really don't think it would have too much of an effect on attendance. Most British fans have "favourites" that aren't British - Gollob, Nicki P, Crump and Sajfutdinov all have their British fans.

official: Lindgren Andersen Woffinden Harris. speedwaygp.com/en/newsdetail/a844?SID=3c781a68295efbd050c014bf940fb3dband we have a big jo*e in Harris who in no way deserves a WC. If you finish second to last in the standings then you should not be even considered for a pick. Some say that Harris might deserve it because he rode well in the qualifier, well he finished 5th on his hometrack. What is the point of having WCs when it is so certain that the 9th and 10th rider + Harris gets a WC every year? Then they might as well change it so that top 10 is automatically qualified and then just have one WC+ Harris.

Well done Genghis.....but then I guess it wasn't rocket science, was it...? ;D I will give two answers - firstly who personally I would put in, and then who I think will be in. My seeded riders would be: 1. Fredrik Lindgren. Improving all the time and only just missed out on the top 8. Only a matter of time before he wins a Grand Prix and climbs the rankings further. 2. Hans Andersen. Something of an enigma in 2009, but far too good not to be in the Grand Prix series. 3. Antonio Lindback. Somewhat inconsistent, but has excelled in his two wildcard appearances during this season. Another enigma, but he's exciting to watch and adds a little colour to the GP series. 4. Ummmm... tricky. However, I am going to plump for World Under-21 Champion Darcy Ward. I know people will stay he's too young, but wasn't exactly the same said about Sayfutdinov 12 months ago? If you're good enough, you're old enough. And Ward is a truly exceptional talent. However, I don't think those will be the 4 riders. I think it probably will be: 1. Fredrik Lindgren 2. Hans Andersen 3. Chris Harris 4. Tai Woffinden There aren't any British riders good enough to be in the GP series, but it appears the GP selection committee, rightly or wrongly, always plump for two Brits. Harris, whilst a also-ran in the GP series in 2009, is our best rider. And Woffinden is our best young rider. So I think they'll be the two Brits seeded into the series. So glad to see Freddie, Hans and Tai ! But I do wish you'd have been right, and they had put Darcy Ward in for Bomber.....but, like you say, they probably deemed him not ready......

Just had a look on the BSF, and surprise surprise it's filled with thread after thread regarding the line up for next years GP, i have to say the subject has become one big fucking........YYYYYYAAAAAAWWWWWWNNNNN.
It has always been my preference to see the best 16 riders compete, which would obviously mean a competition without British riders, however the system/competition is run under different rules, and it frustrates the fuck out of me that posters can not EVER see the bigger picture.
Reminds me of a scene i saw played out in a newsagents once.
Kid "I want some sweets" Mother "I dont have any money" Kid "But i want some" Mother " I dont have any money" Kid " but you said i could have some today" Mother "I dont have any money"
Extremely annoying.................just like the continual whinging about Britain having two picks and Harris justifiably receiving one of them.
It is what it is, sport is rarely fair, and the current system in the GP's is no different to the systems in many other and may i say much bigger sporting competitions such as the Football World cup and the Olympics.
And as for the much posed question "Britain would still have a wild-card entry at Cardiff, so would the attendance really suffer"...........AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Shut the fuck up.............
