Vastervik 91-101 Vargarna Lejonen 104-88 Dackarna Vetlanda 100-92 Indianerna
Vargarna, Lejonen, Vetlanda and Indianerna through to the semis.
Which should mean Lejonen meet Indianerna and Vargarna get Vetlanda.

Indianerna through with 2p margin. They're extremely lucky, I think. Terrible nights for Walasek, Gustafsson, Zorro and, by his standards, Madsen. Had Crump been riding for Vetlanda, Vastervik would have been through instead. Mind you, Iversen (4 from 5) will have been expected to score more last night. And what's going on with Bjarne - did he pick up an injury before he pulled out for the night? Because, with the news in British papers he wants a couple of weeks off as his partner is due to have a baby, there could be one or two raised eyebrows.

It's very hard to say which meeting will be the closest and spring the "lucky loser", but I think a trip to Norrköping on Tuesday might be worthwile for me I think it's safe to say it won't be the Indians. Well, it wasn't Hampel who crashed out but Crump to show that nothing is ever safe in knock-out meetings.

I really have to say Västervik made a mess out of their whole season in the play-offs. According to news reports they were banking on at least two lucrative home meetings in the play-offs, to balance their books. They got a crowd of 4500 last night, which is a good payday but almost certainly not enough for them and now they are out.
When they ride play-off meetings against Dackarna, Vetlanda or Lejonen they could double that figure. But they choose to go to Vargarna and now they are out.

Agree. Västervik screwed up big time by choosing Vargarna. Especially since they surely knew that Gollob was injured and that Laguta was occupied in Russia. Also when Bjarne had problems in one heat Västervik didnt make sure Gapinski was ready and he didnt make it in time within 2min.
However in the end Västervik failed to go through because some of the riders did not reach their full capacity. Harris scored 14p when Västervik met Vargarna in Elitserien but Harris only Scored 7p in the QF Iversen was totally lost in that QF too. Sure Vargarna is a strong team at home but Västervik shouldn't be THAT bad even without Gollob and Laguta, It was also Harris who lost the 3rd place in heat 16 yesterday to Shields.
I just thinks that Västervik have had some bad luck as well. I mean Crump getting injured in the last heat in the meeting at the night before the 2nd and decisive QF meeting and his absence means that Västerviks misses out on the SF? What are the odds? or That the Russian Individual Championship final was the same night as the first quarter finals.

That's not really the issue though, you have to prepare for bad luck and do your own business properly. Vetlanda could have won by a bigger margin had Crump been in the team, but that's not a good straw to clutch for Västervik.

Also, I feel Indianerna had a golden chance which was much better than they could ever hope for, and bottled it. Or perhaps it's the strenght of character and will at Vetlanda, and ofcourse the infamous home advantage that I should praise?
If I were and Indianerna fan I'd really feel let down by certain riders today.

Vaculik is out for 6 months after breaking his thigh bone. Looks like Vetlanda could be the next team out of the playoffs with the Vaculik injury and the uncertainties of Crump.
