EASTBOURNE have been forced to pull out of staging the prestigious Elite League Pairs Championship due to fixture congestion.
The event, which was due to be staged on August 8, will now be switched to an alternative venue.
British Speedway Chairman Peter Toogood said: “We are currently in discussions over where the meeting will now be staged and will announce details as soon as it is finalised.”

EASTBOURNE will host the Elite League Best Pairs on the original date of Saturday, August 8.
The news comes less than a week after the Arlington club reluctantly handed the fixture back to the BSPA - but after further talks it will go ahead after-all.
Eagles had a fixture problem and wanted to slot Coventry into the August date - but that meeting will now take place on Monday, September 7 in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
BSPA vice-chairman Chris Van Straaten was pleased the matter was resolved after talking to all parties concerned - including Sky who will also be on hand for the Pairs.
He said: "When we looked at alternative weekends it was proving impossible to get all the top riders there, so this date was perfect.
"The fact that Sky wanted to screen this meeting also meant we had to stick to that date, so we are delighted with the outcome.
"It's also the height of the holiday season and hopefully the meeting will attract people from different parts of the country.
"We understood Eastbourne's problem with fixtures but the fact that their meeting with Coventry has now been slotted into the Sky schedule makes it a lot easier. It seems to be the logical conclusion.
"Hopefully the weather will be with us, there is nowhere better to watch top class speedway on a warm sunny night than Eastbourne and as an association we are delighted to be keeping the meeting at that venue."
The meeting will be the fifth in the Super 7even series of British Speedway events, the next of which is at Workington on Saturday week when they host the Premier League Fours.

Is there one PR this year that Bobby Dee has released and not rescinded? I know this will make Easty's 80th birthday celebrations much more enjoyable for one Weirdo amongst us.

Hatcham, the format last year was all nine teams in one group, each have four outings, making 18 qualifying heats. The top four then go through to the semis. I should think it will be something similar this year. I'm also going to Eastbourne, I'll once more be donning the bright yellow gear, so please come and say hello.

Swales has lowered his sights a bit! Success is winning a meeting containig Morten Risager.
PANTHERS team manager Trevor Swales hopes to give owner Rick Frost's first anniversary a silver lining. Berkshire businessman Frost will celebrate a year in charge of the city club on Friday. He rescued the club from potential oblivion when taking over from Colin Horton 12 months ago.
The end of Horton's reign was acrimonious and even the takeover was protracted, but things have changed for the better at Alwalton since Frost moved in.
And Swales reckons landing Elite League Pairs Championship glory this weekend would be the perfect way to repay a man who makes his money in the heavy plant machinery industry.
Skipper Niels Kristian Iversen and GP ace Kenneth Bjerre represent the city club in the two-man extravaganza at Eastbourne on Saturday night. It is a track where both are capable of performing well and they are certainly serious contenders for the crown.
Swales said: "The club might not even have been here now had it not been for Rick's intervention. Everyone connected to Peterborough Speedway owes him a huge amount of gratitude for stepping in and taking the club over last year.
"Getting our hands on a piece of silverware would certainly be a nice way of marking the end of Rick's first year here.
"I am a big fan of pairs competitions and I feel sure we are in for a cracking meeting at Eastbourne. There is some stiff competition in there but we certainly have a reasonable chance at a track both our boys can ride well."
Those sentiments are echoed by Iversen who sees the meeting as the perfect chance to answer some recent criticism from both supporters and Panthers bosses. He and Bjerre have been blasted for failing to win enough races.
Iversen said: "I think the criticism has been unfair. We have showed many times this year what we are capable of doing and hopefully we can do that at Eastbourne.
"Kenneth is normally very good round there and I have had some decent meetings at the track myself. Of course it would be great to win some silverware for the club."
The biggest challenges to Panthers' duo are likely to come from the Poole combination of Hans Andersen and Chris Holder, and the Swedish spearhead of Peter Karlsson and Fredrik Lindgren who represent Wolverhampton.
Panthers asset Andersen is bidding to win the title for the second successive season after helping Coventry home when lining up alongside Chris Harris at Swindon in 2008.
