What do you mean DB, that was meeting of the season. You must be easily pleased if that`s the case ;D It`s not my favourite track by a very long way,and if there was anything else decent on the box tonight,I wouldn`t have had it on. Each to their own I suppose..

Bollox, the one team I didn't want to win . I'm with DB, I found that a tad boring TBH. But a big well done to Eddie Kennett for laying his bike down so quickly to miss Mr Clean.

Funny how there's always a team you don't want to win. For me it was Eastbourne - not for any reason other than the unfair track advantage they held over the others.
I don't think it was the best meeting, but it was far from the worst. We saw some overtaking, close racing, and good decisions.
And seeing as the alternative for me was an evening alone with a naff book, it was preferable to that.

Well I'm gutted but had you said we would have been 2nd before tonight then I would have been happy. Poole did deserve the win for Hans's brilliant team riding in the final, a very good lesson for Lewis to learn. Even if it is a horrible way to learn it. The racing was alright I thought, we have definitely had worse this season down there.

Just as a matter of interest, why no KK??? Certainly gave an unfair advantage to the teams who did get BV in the draw , and McGowan in for Stead??? Surely should have been Zagar as McGowan is only a reserve.

Wow! Congratulatons to Hans and Chris on winning the EL Pairs! Something to cheer about - at last! Brilliant team riding from Chris Holder in the Final to get Hans through for them to take the win!
Bad Luck to Eastbourne.

Surely should have been Zagar as McGowan is only a reserve. KK was poorly with the 'flu. The answer to your question re McGowan is surely that he usually rides Eastbourne very well. Stead was named in the original line-up, but no reason was given on the Swindon site for his withdrawal.

Major Championship For Foxhall
Ipswich Speedway are proud to announce that the Elite League Pairs Championship will be staged at Foxhall Stadium on Saturday September 4th.
This meeting will include many of the leading Grand Prix riders as the top two riders from each club battle it out for this prestigious title.
Director of Speedway, Chris Louis, believes that the reshaping of the track at Ipswich has contributed to this major championship being allocated to the Witches by the British Speedway Promoters Association: “I think that this honour can be seen as a reward for our efforts to produce a new track which will lead to close exciting racing here at Foxhall. It is some time since Ipswich has been given the privilege of staging such an important meeting and we are determined to put on a show worthy of the event.”

Line ups taken from British Sppedway site: ELITE LEAGUE PAIRS LINE-UP
Tuesday August 24, 2010 HOLDERS Poole will be represented by Chris Holder and Bjarne Pedersen at the Elite League Pairs Championship on Saturday, September 4.
The Pirates won the title at Eastbourne on a memorable night last season but this year’s event will take place on the newly-shaped Ipswich track.
Home hopes rest on the shoulders of Scott Nicholls and Danny King in a star-studded field which is sure to pull in a bumper crowd on a big weekend for the sport.
Hans Andersen, who won the event as a Poole rider last August, will partner Peter Karlsson in a powerful Belle Vue pairing.
The meeting takes place the night before the World Under-21 Team Cup Final at Rye House which means Wolves star Tai Woffinden faces two major meetings in as many days.
The Elite League Pairs has the unique scoring system of 4-3-2-0 to encourage team racing which means avoiding last place is the priority.
It’s the fifth event in the Super 7even series of meetings which have proved so popular with fans up and down the country.
Series Director David Hoggart said: “The line-up at Ipswich means the meeting is too close to call, how can you predict a winning pair with any confidence?
“It’s a bumper weekend for Speedway fans with the Pairs followed by the World Under-21 Team Final when we will be backing the young British boys. We wish them well at Rye House.
“I’m delighted with the success of the Super 7even series so far and we are delighted to be taking it to Ipswich, a new venue for us. We’re looking forward to seeing an entertaining meeting on their new-look track.”
POOLE: Chris Holder, Bjarne Pedersen. PETERBOROUGH: Kenneth Bjerre, Niels Kristian Iversen. BELLE VUE: Hans Andersen, Peter Karlsson. EASTBOURNE: Ricky Kling, Cameron Woodward. WOLVERHAMPTON: Freddie Lindgren, Tai Woffinden. LAKESIDE: Adam Shields, Jonas Davidsson. COVENTRY: Krzystof Kasprzak, Chris Harris. SWINDON: Leigh Adams, Simon Stead. IPSWICH: Scott Nicholls, Danny King.
I suspect everyone is hoping to get Eastie, bit like getting BV last year Will those riders ALL be there

Well a disappointing evening all round really. A bit of a bore fest until near the end - I think the first pass came in Heat 12 when Ricky Kling picked up drive on the back straight and shot past both the Hammers. He couldn't do that again if he tried! Good crowd though, and a well deserved win for Coventry. Bomber and KK were on fire. Personally, I'm hoping for good news from Sweden when JD gets his thumb checked out at the hospital today
