I thought the print was okay but I wear reading glasses anyway and yes the Edinburgh programme is good too but I would say Newcastle's was better

Looks to me as though Newcastle will be without Kenni Larsen and Casper Wortmann when they face Workington on Sunday as they are riding in a Danish qualifier.

It's the clash of the titans at Brough Park tonight - Craig Branney vs John Branney.

Another miserable evening on Tyneside, as the "Toon Army" slip further into the relegation mire (there looks to be no hope of salvation now) and the Diamonds suffer another home defeat, this time at the hands of the Barbarians: NEWCASTLE..431..S Boxall..0,3,0,2,3 = 82..K Larsen..R/R 3..T Leverington..2,0,2,2 = 64..D Sneddon..2,0,1',2,2 = 7+15..J King..1',3,2',2,0,0 = 8+26..C Branney..2,2,2',3,1',2,1' = 13+37..J Courtney..0,1,0 = 1WORKINGTON..471..K Doolan..1,3,3,3,2 = 122..J Branney..3,1,1,0,0 = 53..A Rymel..3,0,3,3,1' = 10+14..C Wright..R/R 5..A Compton..3,1,3,1,3 = 116..B Compton..1,0,0 = 17..R Lawson..3,0,2,1,1,1,0 = 88..J Grey = DNRTaken from: www.newcastlespeedway.net/Once again, the Diamonds just couldn't summon enough heat winners - four heat wins from fifteen at home simply isn't good enough. But I'm sure Tsunami is still convinced that greatness awaits this mighty Newcastle side.

Looks as if the missing Kenni Larsen (no comment to make genghis?) made all the difference and I think had he been there the Diamonds would have probably won. Mind you that's me not knowing what R/R scored

Mind you that's me not knowing what R/R scored Newcastle scored 9+1 from Rider Replacement, although obviously Larsen would also have been eligible for Ht 15.

A rare win in this troubled season for the Tynesiders in the KO Cup today, but they were never close to making it through to the next stage: NEWCASTLE..48 [73]1..S Boxall..3,3,3,0,2 = 112..T Leverington..1,1,3,1 = 63..J King..3,1',3,2 = 9+14..D Sneddon..1,2,2',2 = 7+15..K Larsen..2,2,2,1,0 = 76..C Wortmann..1,0,0 = 17..C Branney..3,1',1,1',1' = 7+3SCUNTHORPE..42 [107]1..D Howe..2,3,3,2',3 = 13+12..S Lambert..0,0,2,1 = 33..C Wilkinson..2,3,2,3,1 = 114..V Bergstrom..0,1,0,3 = 45..M Karlsson..3,2,1,3 = 96..J Hart..0,0,0 = 07..B Bekker..2,0,0,0,0 = 2Taken from: www.newcastlespeedway.net/Still, a win is a win is a win, I guess.

And the "Poo Boy" Rory Schlein was the winner of Newcastle's 80th anniversary championship with a five-ride maximum after rain washed out the proposed semi-final and final. Travis McGowan and Daniel King completed the rostrum. Taken from: www.newcastlespeedway.net

The city's beloved football team may have been relegated but the Diamonds took advantage of having a Branney missing to record a rare comfortable win this season: NEWCASTLE..511..J Franc..3,1,2,3 = 92..K Larsen..R/R 3..T Leverington..0,3,0,0,1 = 44..D Sneddon..2',3,3,3,0 = 11+15..J King..2,3,3,3,1,3 = 156..C Wortmann..0,0,0 = 07..M Rajkowski..3,1',3,0,1',3,1 = 12+2REDCAR..391..G Havelock..2,2,1',0 = 5+12..R Kessler..1',1',2,2 = 6+23..C Stonehewer..1,1',3,2,2 = 9+14..B Wilson..0,2,0,0 = 25..T Proctor..3,2,2,2,1' = 10+16..B Compton..2,0,1',0 = 3+17..A Bugeja..1',0,1',2 = 4+2Taken from: www.newcastlespeedway.net/And that result just about ends the sludge troopers' slim hopes of making the Premier Trophy semi-finals.

From the BSPA:
Adam McKinna has been called into the Newcastle team for their opening Premier League meeting of the season with Birmingham on Sunday (6.30).
McKinna will replace struggling Danish star Casper Wortmann who has returned to Denmark to rebuild his confidence.
Diamonds boss George English said: “Casper hasn’t written off this season but he’s been struggling. Young Adam is determined to take his chance with both hands.”

Judging a book by its cover, it looks like the Diamonds had this meeting at their mercy and then tried their best to throw it away, but, ultimately, Tomasz Piszcz managed to get himself excluded in Ht 15 and the Diamonds held on: NEWCASTLE..481..C Wilkinson..1',2,0,0 = 3+12..T Leverington..2,1',3,3 = 9+13..J King..3,2,2,3,1' = 11+14..D Sneddon..2',1',1',1 = 5+35..K Larsen..2,0,3,2,2 = 96..A McKinna..3,3,2',0 = 8+17..C Branney..1,0,2',0 = 3+1BIRMINGHAM..451..J Lyons..3,3,0,1,3 = 102..L Lindgren..R/R 3..M Hauzinger..0,2,2,2 = 64..R Ksiezak..1,1',1,1',2' = 6+35..T Piszcz..3,3,3,6,0 = 156..J Cockle..0,0,0,0,1' = 1+17..M Burrows..2,1,0,0,1,3 = 7Taken from: www.newcastlespeedway.net/But the Brummies take a Premier League point back to the West Midlands with them.
