Seems his first experience of the West Lothian Tricktrack hasn't left any mental scars . Probably because he rode it quite well. It held no fears for him.

Confirmed by Merlin over on the Monarchs Chatzone that Thomas H Jonasson will miss the weekend's meeting at Dewent Park between the Barbarian and the heathen Monarchs. Jonasson suffered concussion in an accident on track in Sweden yesterday and will miss all of Edinburgh's three weekend fixtures.

And more changes ahead of tonight's meeting in Barbaria between the Comets and the heathen Monarchs. For the home side Charles Wright has decided to sit this one out so that the Comets get a guest for Adrian Rymel who is missing, presumed kicking his heels in the Prague pits, instead of just Rider Replacement. So, Tomas Topinka comes in for Rymel and it's Rider Replacement for the Lesser Wright. And don't you go expecting to see Wright back in the near term - Rymel is also missing next Saturday, when the Babas visit Stoke and no doubt a guest for Rymel would come in handy for that one too. The Monarchs are also taking advantage of yet another piece of half-baked rule tinkering by the BSPA, as they'll have a guest for Thomas H Jonasson (Richard Hall) and Rider Replacement for Andrew Tully.

For anyone wondering, todays meeting between the Barbarians and the Potters at Derwent Park was rained off, which does leave a bit of a headache, fixture wise.

The Barbarians take all three points against Uncle Len's Rockets tonight, but it took a 5-1 in Ht 15 (and a better rider in place of a Branney) to do it: WORKINGTON..491..A Rymel..3,3,3,2,2' = 13+12..C Wright..1,0,2,1 = 43..K Doolan..3,0,3,3,3 = 124..R Lawson..2',2,1,2 = 7+15..A Compton..2',3,2,0 = 7+16..L Priest..0,0,0 = 07..J Graversen..1,3,1',1,0 = 6+1RYE HOUSE..411..R Mear..0,1,3,1,0 = 52..J Haines..R/R 3..C Neath..2,1,2,2,0 = 74..J Auty..0,1',0,1 = 2+15..L Sundstrom..1,2,3,2,3,1 = 126..L Bowen..3,3,1',0,1,2,3 = 13+17..A Silver..2',0,0 = 2+1Taken from: www.speedwayupdates.proboards103.com

(and a better rider in place of a Branney) Yet more nonsense - John Branney has been knocking up a series of good scores around Derwent Park.

And tonight in Barbaria new Comet Craig Cook took what is, I believe, his first Premier League race win as the barbarians defeated the Brummies: WORKINGTON..511..A Rymel..3,3,3,1,0 = 102..C Wright..2',1,2,0 = 5+13..K Doolan..3,3,1',3,3 = 13+14..R Lawson..2',0,2,0 = 4+15..A Compton..3,2',3,0 = 8+16..C Cook..1,3,0 = 47..J Branney..3,1,0,1,2 = 7BIRMINGHAM..441..J Lyons..1,2,4,3,2 = 122..L Lindgren..0,1',3,1' = 5+23..M Hauzinger..0,0,0 = 04..R Ksiezak..1,1,1',3 = 6+15..T Piszcz..2,2,6,2',1' = 13+26..J Cockle..2,0,0 = 27..L Smart..0,0,1,2,2,1 = 6Taken from: www.speedwayupdates.proboards103.comThe Brummies just one point away from taking one Premier League point back to the West Midlands with them - they just couldn't find enough heat winners.

CHARLES Wright and John Branney have both been ruled out of Workington's home clash with Somerset on Saturday.
Wright has hand and heel injuries, whilst Branney has a damaged ankle and a sore hand. Sheffield's Paul Cooper has been booked to guest.
Comets boss Ian Thomas said: "They have both been in the wars this season and I suspected on Sunday that they wouldn't be fit for this weekend."

And the result of tonight's "cat fight" between the league's top heavy two result in a share of the spoils, with the Barbarians taking a win and two Premier League points while the Somerset Rebels head home with a consolation point for keeping it close: WORKINGTON..501..K Doolan..3,2,3,2' = 10+12..J Branney..R/R 3..A Rymel..3,3,1',3,0 = 10+14..R Lawson..2',1,3,2,1 = 9+15..A Compton..2,3,3,3,1 = 126..C Cook..2',2,1',0,0,0 = 5+27..P Cooper..1',1',2',0,0 = 4+3SOMERSET..451..E Kramer..1,0,2,1 = 42..S Walker..R/R 3..J Herne..0,0,1',1',2 = 4+24..C Gathercole..1,2,1,4',3 = 11+15..S Johnston..3,6,3,0,2' = 14+16..T Brown..0,0,0,1' = 1+17..J Sedgmen..3,0,2,0,2,1',3 = 11+1Taken from: www.speedwayupdates.proboards103.comThe Workington "big guns" misfire in Ht 15 and the Rebel take full advantage.
