Who's the optimist who thinks the Brits are going to win? I'm with you to a certain extent Wacks . The Aussies will probably walk it on Thursday , but the injury hit Danes won't do much without Hans and Nicki . The Swedes don't possess much strength in depth - remember Lindgren's record in Poland is nothing special . I think we can follow the Aussies into Saturday's final .

Paulco, under normal circumstances the Aussies and Danes would walk it, but the Danes do now look vunerable. No Nicki, no Bjarne, and Hans only just back from injury. Sweden look beatable - so maybe the Brits can make it through. I think the team from the other night minus Eddie plus Rico would certainly give it their best shot.

The thing one often finds when the event actually comes around is that you project the gaps in class much bigger in your mind than they actually are in real life. Australia may cakewalk the Race-Off, but I don't think they will. There's nothing to say that Sweden or GB won't go Russia on the event, they certainly have the riders to do it.

I would certainly give Sweden every chance tomorrow night and wouldn't be too quick to dismiss the Danes. I think the Aussies, Crump aside, are over-rated, Adams is clearly on a downward trend, Holder does not look the rider he was last season, and i'm certainly no fan of Sullivan.

Would say your right on most things bar Adams his only dip has been in gp's and this meeting it his own track . If we pick our best side we would have a good chance as these teams look realy weak but i doubt that we will.

He will if the manager wants to put out our best side, and he'll also pick Nicholls, although if he makes any changes at all it will make a mockery of the whole 'give the youngsters some experience' charade. Personally i think Team GB were never going to achieve much regardless of who they put out, but the best man to lead the team would have been Rosco from a pure speedway point of view, the powers that be however seem to think team spirit is more important, in which case i'm not sure why Johnny Vegas didn't get the call.

Be interesting to see how Patrick Hougaard goes tomorrow. He was a junior at Leszno before making the switch to Unia Tarnow....and as a BV fan if the Aussies and Danes make it through that'll give me 3 Aces riders to cheer. Crump, Kasprzak and Hougaard. Crump isn't............but you know what I mean. BTW....have we all seen the pictures on Nicki's injuries from his clash with Laguta? They are on the World Cup Line Up thread over at www.belle-vue-speedway.co.uk
