Well, pardon me.....but I thought that having sold that many seats within a few hours of going on sale (block 5 was sold out within a few hours on Saturday night) is pretty good going for a speedway event such as this. It's not a bloody rock concert you know, where the whole thing is sold out within the first hour! And, personally, I think it's a great opportunity to see the likes of Gollob and other big names race around the EOES - when is that likely to happen again...? But I don't need to justify my enthusiasm..... I don't come on here to be humiliated...............
Block 4 now sold out (341 seats) (If anyone cares......? )
I care. And I hope this meeting is a huge success for Peterborough, but, being a peasant at heart, I think I'll be standing, if I decide to trudge along to this one.

Poland coach Marek Cieslak has named a squad of ten riders for next month's Speedway World Cup. The Poles finished runners-up to Denmark last season but are bidding to regain the Ove Fundin Trophy with this year's final on home territory at Leszno on Saturday, July 18. Poland were 2007 World Champions and have won the trophy on both the last two occasions the final has been held in their own country. They face Great Britain, Australia and Slovenia in event two of SWC week at Peterborough on Monday, July 13, hoping for a direct passage into the final. Cieslak will select his final five-man team for the opening meeting from Tomasz Gollob, Rune Holta, Piotr Protasiewicz, Grzegorz Walasek, Adrian Miedzinski, Sebastian Ulamek, Piotr Swiderski, Jaroslaw Hampel, Wieslaw Jagus and Krzysztof Kasprzak. speedwaygp.com

Team gb selection...............................absolutely ridiculous, how Richardson is not ahead of at least four of them is ludicrous, rob lyon is clearly an incompetent wanker

But I can see why he's picked the 5 he has ! Danny King knows Peterborough very well indeed, and both Tai and Lewis Bridger ride well there. And couldn't possibly have Scotty - lol !!!

Well done to Rob Lyon for going with the youngsters.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Lee Richardson back in for Leszno in place of Danny King. Overall pretty pleased with the team selected though.

I do think Lyon deserves a bit of credit for his team selection. His bollocks are on the block, to a certain degree. But had Middlo still been in charge we'd probably have had the old guard, such as the global superstar, guaranteed places. I think people have to see this season as a bit of a "trial run". It seems to me that getting to the final would be a massive achievement. The team picked is looking 2-3 seasons down the line.
