How blooby pathetic to stop a young, ambitious British rider from doubling up because his average is a fraction too high. And yet any foreign fucking trash with an average less than 8.00 is allowed to double up.

Finally you post something i agree with Genghis, although i think its more likely the fault of the BSPA than Mr Blooby

A young British rider who would benefit greatly from doubling is denied , but a foreign rider who could've treated our speedway with a bit of distain , because his average is less than 8 , can double up to his heart's content - providing it doesn't clash with Sweden or Poland .

The point here is that 'rules are rules', it's not a Brit bashing exercise, it's a case of sticking to the rules.
We all complain when 'special dispensation' is used, so why do some people seem to be making a case for that very thing?
Maybe the rule shouldn't stand, but the fact is, it does....... we need to gain some credability and stick to it.
If it's agreed that the rule is worded wrongly, then by all means change it in time for an amendment to the Rule Book for 2010, but it's too late for 2009 as 'rules are rules'!!!

Kev - no I don't want special dispensation, BUT the rule could be changed NOW instead of waiting for 2010, could it not It needs to be nationality restricted instead of average restricted.

It needs to be nationality restricted instead of average restricted. Why? The whole idea of doubling up is to allow young Premier League youngsters a good taste of Elite League action before they have to commit full time to the Elite, which often can be a confidence destroyer. But foreign riders can get extra outings by riding in their home leagues, can they not? Look at the number of international standard British riders we have - it's a pathetic number. We need to follow the Polish example and put our riders first.

Totally agree the BSPA's treatment of British riders is shocking, maybe you will start to see that there could be a different side to the Nicholls saga

From the moment that meeting closed promoters started to build their teams and it would be unfair on everyone to move the goalposts now!!! The 2009 AGM is the next time any rules should be altered in preparation for the 2010 season!!!

There is still plenty of time to change this rule and allow young Brits to double up, and exclude any foreign crap who can't even average 8.00 in our second division. In fact, there shouldn't be ANY foreigners in the Premier League with an average less than 8.00 - any foreigner with figures less than that, should be re-assessed back up to 8.00. Would solve a lot of the problems with our over-reliance on foreigners who aren't even any bloody good.
