Totally agree the BSPA's treatment of British riders is shocking, maybe you will start to see that there could be a different side to the Nicholls saga As previously stated, anyone sympathy I may have had for Nicholls disappeared the moment he pulled out of last year's ELRC.

Well one of the Young danes has signed for 2009, Klaus Jacobsen, the better of the 2 original danes IMHO.

As I said on the Ipswich thread I don't think riders on an assessed average can double up so that would rule out Wells.

And confirming that Ricky Wells has been ruled out, is the signing of Glen Phillips to complete the Stoke team.

STOKE’S popular veteran Mark ‘Buzz’ Burrows has been released from hospital after x-rays on his back and neck.
Burrows crashed out of Saturday’s win over Scunthorpe at Loomer Road but is now back at home.
Potters promoter Dave Tattum said: “Thankfully nothing is broken, but he does feel a bit battered and bruised and he’ll feel second hand for a few days, but thankfully he’ll be fine.”

STOKE have signed Lee Smart to take a reserve berth at Loomer Road following the completion of Mark Burrows' short-term deal.
The majority of 21-year-old Smart's Premier League experience has been with the Potters' local rivals Birmingham - who they visit in early July.
Promoter Dave Tattum said: "It's now up to Lee to make sure he gets amongst the points and makes it impossible for me to drop him."

STOKE have hit a snag in their bid to bring in a fresh face this week after a proposed signing fell through.
The Potters are seeking a replacement for Lee Smart, who was recalled by Birmingham, and boss Dave Tattum is angry at the turn of events.
He said: "I'm absolutely distraught as I've acted in good faith. I re-declared the team with the new rider in only for this to happen."

Courtesy of www.worldspeedway.comStoke Easy Rider Potters have signed Craig Branney to replace Lee Smart who was recalled by parent club Birmingham last week.
Branney, 26, started the season with the Newcastle Diamonds but was replaced earlier this month in the Diamonds line up by former Stoke number one Mark Lemon.
Craig is the elder brother of former Stoke Spitfires rider John Branney had agreed a deal to ride for Workington Comets for the 2008 season but a crash in the annual Telford ice meeting in February left him with a broken leg which eventually ruled him out of the season.
Promoter Dave Tattum said “Craig is a rider who as gone well around Stoke in the past as a visitor and has at times been a thorn in our side, now hopefully he can score some points for us. “I’m sure Craig will fit in well with the lads and do a decent job for us.”
Branney slots into reserve berth and will make his debut the day after his 27th birthday, when the Potters take on the Sheffield Tigers at Loomer Road next Saturday.

Stoke Speedway and Phil Morris have mutually agreed for Phil to stand down from the Potters team with immediate effect. The amiable Welshmen has struggled in recent meetings for the Potters and both parties have agreed it's for the best to go their separate ways. Morris commented "My recent performances were below what both I and the Stoke promotion expected, I have tried various set-ups but just haven't been able to get amongst the points to a satisfactory level. I have agreed with Dave Tattum that it is best for both parties if I stand down from the team with immediate effect. There are no ill feelings on my part, I wish the team all the best and I am sorry that the Stoke fans only saw glimpses of my true abilities. Courtesy - www.potterspower.com/D/news.htm
