The drivers favourite circuit coming up, and a track that suits Ferrari, who have confirmed this week that they will be keeping Massa and Raikkonen for next year.
Ferrari are soon going to have to choose a driver to back, and at this point things aren't looking good for the World Champion, who is currently seven points behind his team-mate. The gap between Massa and Hamilton, however, is another six points, and with only six races to go it's all to play for. Can they do it? And more to the point, WILL they do it?

The gap between Massa and Hamilton, however, is 14 points, and with only six races to go it's going to take some good driving from the Brazilian, coupled with some back-up from Raikkonen, who's not going to like playing second fiddle. Can they do it? And more to the point, WILL they do it? Schumi, isn't the gap between Hamilton and Massa 6 points not 14? King Kimi excels around Spa, so this weekened this give an indication of his current levels of motivation.

Oops. I read it as 74-60. Guess I'd better offer you my humble apologies and drag myself away from this screen, which is obviously affecting my eyesight. Sorry, genghis. But in that case - Come on Felipe! ;D Good job no-one reads this thread isn't it? Modified my original post in light of my glaring error.

Considering the bookmakers obsession with hamilton, i presume massa being 7/4 favourite suggests he is good value for a much skinnier price ?

Well, it's traditionally a Ferrari-suited track, and given that he won the last GP (the bookies aren't always too knowledgable about the sports they take bets on, and tend to go with the latest results) and would have won the one previous had his engine not expired, he's well in with a shout. Put it this way, I wouldn't bet on anyone other than Hamilton or Massa to win, unless you fancied an outside bet on a BMW.

If he can't motivate himself around Spa, then he won't be able to anywhere. And I would have thought this is his last chance to prove himself to Ferrari bosses, before they plump for Massa as their main challenger for this season. The Genghis prediction: 1. Raikkonen 2. Hamilton 3. Massa

I wonder what Ferrari will be allowed to get away with this weekend?

Well, that was a bit of a surprise. McLaren dominate qualifying and come close to a front row lockout. It could be different come the race, of course. Ferrari played it straight today - I expect they're saving up the usual dirty tricks for the race itself.

Wow!!! What a final three laps.
There are times when I agree with Schumi that Lewis is a little overhyped.
But today that was terrific driving from Hamilton under pressure. The pass on Raikkonen was brilliant, and then he managed (bar one excursion) to keep it together on the final 2 laps.
Hard luck on Raikkonen. Looks like a two-man battle for the championship now - Raikkonen did come from way behind last year, but the difference was his team-mate wasn't in front of him in the standings.

But the fat stewards haven't sung yet. And they're investigating Raikkonen and Hamilton, so expect to see the Ferrari man exonerated, while the McLaren man is disqualified and penalised with a twenty-place grid penalty for the next Grand Prix.

Investigating what for fuck's sake? Hamilton allowed Raikkonen back through.

Investigating what for fuck's sake? Hamilton allowed Raikkonen back through. I think they're saying Hamilton did it in such a way as to gain the advantage (position on track) into the next bend. Don't ask me - I thought it was fine.
