Well, let's face it, unless it rains, the chances of seeing anything worthwhile in this race are strictly limited. There's little chance of overtaking, Kimi's not interested, and the McLaren is easily the best car out there at the moment, unless it's the one Kovalainen's in.
Cynical, moi?

Hope the speedway isn't rained-off on Sunday as Hungary is the biggest borefest in the F1 calender .

Hope the speedway isn't rained-off on Sunday as Hungary is the biggest borefest in the F1 calender . Maybe it'll be like 2006 when it rained, and the race started with an almost reverse grid, with Alonso, Schumacher and Button all storming through the field. Probably the Spanish flapperjack's best drive, although a mechanical failure meant he finished it pointless.

Both the race and qualifiers start at 1pm this weekend.

Kimi's definitely starting to get bored: www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3213_3877792,00.html There's also a story with the Ferrari boss saying that they are not in crisis - which means that they probably are. Funny how when Ferrari was being run by a Scot, a Frog and a Krout, they were succesful - now the Italians in back in charge it's all going to pot.

But he's seeing out his contract. It's no new thing for Kimi to be saying - he's always been flighty, and from the very start we knew he wouldn't be in F1 forever. As for Ferrari's worries - they'll need to improve the car, but they've been here before, and they're still leading the constructors by 14 points (actually McLaren are only in third, behind BMW), so no need to panic yet.

And they'll , no doubt , have something underhand to spring on F1 should the going get really tough .

Well, Ferrari are going to be using the ugly shark fins on their engine covers this weekend - something McLaren opted not to use in Germany. Maybe they'll be like those wheels on the car in Grease, with spikes to take out their opponents if they get too close. Perhaps prevent Lewis doing his usual "bumping wheels" when overtaking manoeuvre.

Great. Damon is back doing the commentary.
Fantastic to hear from someone who really knows what he's talking about. His response just now about track temperatures was far more informative that anything that the cretin (and F1-winless) Brundle ever comes out with.

And Hill comes out with another gem explaining the pressures on putting together a "perfect" single qualifying lap and how he used to enjoy the pressure. Something else Brundle never acheived.
What a delight Hill is in the commentary box. Hopefully someone from the Beeb is taking note.

Lewis strolls to Pole Position, and Kovalainen makes it an all-McLaren front row. And what on earth is wrong with Kimi Raikkonen - is he, in the words of Catherine Tate, "Not bovvered".

Sorry, genghis, but that was some of the most monotonous commentary I've ever heard. Bring back Brundle.
Qualifying result:
1..L Hamilton 2..H Kovalainen 3..F Massa 4..R Kubica 5..T Glock 6..K Raikkonen 7..F Alonso 8..M Webber

Sorry, genghis, but that was some of the most monotonous commentary I've ever heard. Bring back Brundle. Schumi, it doesn't matter which tone it was, listen to what was being said. Hill knows his stuff - far better than Brundle, a driver who was found wanting at F1 level. And now we've got that cretin Blundell back on screen, he was an even worse driver than Brundle. In two minutes of interview, Niki Lauda summed up the championship battle far better than Brundell ever could. Hopefully Lauda will be interviewed at every race - he really knows his beans and pulls no punches. Even though it makes for unconfortable listening if you drive for Ferrari.

I can't listen when it's so dull and dreary. The same with Hamilton's interviews. Brundle is the best of the commentary team, and Louise does a good interview. I'd happily lose the rest of them. You missed an "h" out of Schumacher. And I'd only just changed that.
