Sorry, but none of these teams are particularly filling me with enthusiasm. David Stachyra is a Polish rider who rode for Rzeszow in the Ekstraliga last year. Had a couple of good meetings, but nothing spectacular. Born 15th August 1985. Well I for one am really pleased Dawid is riding for us, he is very like Swidders ( a Pole with a sense of humour ) and made quite an impact when he finally came over for the 16 lapper. Having been worrying about the make up of our team recently, I'm actually quite pleased with them. Have reservations about Leigh's scoring at home TBH, but I wonder if he is going to be Captain, pleased Jarek's back, so am pleased with our top 2 of Jarek, Swidders, with Danny an able support. Excited by Darcy's inclusion, untried but undoubted talent, but very sad we can't have Schrammy

Excited by Darcy's inclusion, untried but undoubted talent I would be too if I were you. I saw him race in a second half at Arlington and he looked very good. I'm also very happy that he is racing for Ipswich because it means Poole haven't got their claws into him yet.

Don't get me wrong, Badge, I'm not knocking the riders, just when I see who's been signed for all clubs this year there's nothing that would make me want to pay the extra few quid to see an Elite League team over a Premier League one. And I've never really paid much interest in the PL before now.

Schumi, you need to stop being dazzled by Nicki in the GP's, (or should I say [glow=red,2,300]bored[/glow]) and get to a live meeting, any level of teams, and it should then perhaps re-invigorate you in live speedway...there truly is nothing better, to me the GP's are a forgone conclusion, but the EL who can say. Try it hon, even those "pesky 'Ammers" Anyway, last season the lower team averages brought a more even league, and without more of the so called top boys, it should equal out even better this season. Today's riders are tomorrow's Nicki, Jason, Hans etc and they have to start somewhere, and why not in the jolly old BEL. I love my club, and the lads who don the Witch (with one or two exceptions of course ) get my complete and utter support. Having the likes of Swidders ( and previously Kim) and Tobi, makes it all the better.

But the league wasn't that close, was it? Okay, the Witches did much better than in previous seasons, but the gap between top and bottom was still massive (Poole 52 points at the top, with Wolverhampton 16 at the bottom).

Granted, but live speedway means, seeing Chris Schramm's face when he scored 9 points and was voted rider of the night, the horror and the deathly silence when Swidders flew over the fence and lay in a heap, then the next time I saw him he was sitting up in an ambulance smiling with a thumb's up sign to say "I'm OK", the smell, the anticipation....oh the whole fix you get from live speedway...the TV just can't reproduce that, and of course the annoying commentators don't help, but I can understand if the only speedway you follow is televised or on-line that you would become rather jaded of the whole experience. Following ateam means taking the highs with the lows, and boy we Witches supporters cover both of those, but in John Louis we have a genuine speedway bloke, who most Ipswich fans support through the good times and the bad, and this year apart from Leigh Lanham, he, with his co-helpers has put together a young, interesting team, who will get all the help and support that Chris, Jem and Mark can offer. Plus we are a loyal bunch down at Ipswich, and we might have the odd moan or two but basically we love our Witches, whoever they are (well with the aforementioned one or two exceptions that is )

You forgot to mention the glory of seeing the Weirdity. Only had the pleasure of that twice, so not really in a position to comment further, but of course we did have GOD for a while didn't we.

Badger, Leigh scored 5 paid 7 on two occasions this year for us at Foxhall, and 3 paid 4 on the other. He has averaged 4.47 around Ipswich in the last two seasons and has come on a long way since he last rode for you.
I think you'll find you have signed a solid, dependable and likeable rider who will pleasantly surprise you. He'll certainly be missed down at the side of the lake.

Well Kev he is definitely an improvement on a certain rider who fortunately hasn't signed this season, another ex-'Ammer, apparnetly Chris is going to help Leigh this year too. Never in any doubt that Leigh is a nice bloke, remember he is Ipswich born and bred, and has always been a regular at Ippo, as a rider and supporter, just rather uninspiring as a rider for us to be truthful, however I can see him being a help and support to our younger members, thought perhaps he might be our Captain, but the jury seems to be out on that one ATM.

Hopefully something will happen to resurrect Reading speedway, sooner rather than later.

I bet he gets a few guest bookings at Lakeside in 2009
