Well, after last week's tedium at Monmore Green we'll all be hoping for better from Sky's first visit to the Abbey Stadium this season. Swindon have enjoyed a great start to the season, they're unbeaten at home and have a couple of wins on the road already. But Eastbourne have also had a pretty good start to the season, with a televised win at reigning champions Coventry. However, the wheels seem to have come off for Eastbourne in the last week or so and I'd expect a fairly comfortable win for the Robins.

For the first time in many years I think the Robins face a season where they have no "safe" meetings at home - we might dish out the odd walloping but are always vulnerable. Ippo without Mads being the best example so far. With a team of youngsters excitedly under the Wing of the Armchair Robin, then each meeting will see 2 or 3 on the pace while the rest are patchy - the trick is having a balance of skills and temperments so that on most occasions you always have that 2 or 3 to support leigh on the night. It has so far made us as good away as at home. That will change over the season as the boys master the track as much as they are able.
So no easy win tonight and Eagles are - sadly - looking pretty strong regardless. Last heat decider?

Last heat decider? today the robins could have found themselves far more vunerable than you may have imagined. i had to travel to kilburn this morning and on route passed troy batchelor's van parked on a small trading estate in lombard road, battersea. had i not been running late,i would have undoubtably disabled his vehicle and rushed home to snap up the seahawks +7. a fortunate day indeed for,'troy batchelor international speedway rider' and the rest of the rosco seven.

As a neutral of course, I am hoping for an Eastbourne win. (No problem with Swindon as a team of course - I just generally cheer for the visitors in televised team events; why? I can't answer that. )
