Well, I seriously considered not watching the end of the meeting after the first few heats, but I came back into the room to see the delightful Lewis Bridger, who reminds me a little of The Genius, on his backside, and from then on things got much better.
Harris is still looking a little under par, but I was pleased he came out unscathed from his incident with Nicholls (and fair play to him for racing) in heat 15. Woodward looks like a rider with promise, and Allen didn't do too badly, but what a kerfuffle with the game of musical bikes, and Schlein's exclusion for not making the 2 minutes.
Just one thing: who the hell are Brundell and Buzra?

Well my new TV , gave me an excellent view of this close meeting. Hopefully this will be the first of many good televised meetings. And a good thing to come out of it, not so much time spent with Bug eyes and Jumping Green ;D

;D ;D ;D
Great display from the Eagles, who thankfully proved me wrong! Again most impressed with Woodward he really is on fire at the moment and long may it continue. Gustafsson was great and Kennett did much better than he usually does round Brandon.
Really good night, its been a long time since we won away from home and to top it off Poole got a good hammering as well ;D

That one went exactly as I had feared.
Two heat leaders lacked pace, and neither Schlein or Stead is sufficiently aggressive although Harris has clearly learned from last seasons GP bingle with Scott but still lacks something for much of each meeting.
Scott left the stadium with a big ugly bandage wrapped around his left hand.
Stead spends far too much time far too sideways and needs coaching by someone like Peter Collins, but its probably too late in his career to change. If he 's going to pull monumental lockers on nearly every bend then at least stay down near the white line.
Burza did what could and should be expected on a 3.12 average and Messing was again as poor as I suspected he would be.
Billy Janniro has knackered the best of the two bikes he bought from Bomber and has sent the one engine to Eddie Bull rather than to Brian Andersen (the Kingmaker) which is a serious false economy. Then he borrowed a current Bomber bike and broke that too.
Olly Alllen was on his way to be the best of the bunch but for an engine failure disappointment .
Eagles looked good. Scott is the rider we should not have let go. At the Dinner Dance Chris Anderson told my friends that Bees should lose any rider other than Scott. Twiglet was not so fragile after a ropey start. Cammy Woodward looked good and scored double his average and I feel Simon Gustafsson has a bright future. A few zeroes from the Eagles but they had the heat winners.
I fear Ipswich this Friday.
Roll on 2009 with Sandhu back in charge (preferably of the entire Elite League) and Scott at number one for Bees where he should be..
Good to see many of my new friends from this forum and a lovely friend who has been missing so far this season put in a guest appearance.

Poo boy and the reserves are the weak links that have to be addressed if Coventry are to challenge again . Harris ain't a nine point man , but you know you get 100% effort every race . Stead will do ok , but his style stops him from being a top-notcher . Allen gets better every time i see him and must be in the World Cup side . Janniro is too fat , tries his best but should lose a few pounds . Apart from kicking Poo Boy's arse , Coventry need to address this bike problem nonsense . For it to happen to one rider , i suppose it can happen , but two is unacceptable . Eastbourne impressed me though . Hasn't Cameron Woodward came on as a rider - he still has a big following up here in Scotland . Even Kennett done ok last night . Nicholls was superb , and was just trying too hard for his maximum when he came to grief . For the World Cup round at Brandon , Jim Lynch need look no further than - Nicholls , Harris , Stead , Allen and possibly David Howe over Edward Kennett .

Thought the Simon Gustafsson interview in the pits signing off as its a case of Simple Simon said was particularly pathetic... Looked a great prospect for the future at only 17! and for once I couldn't fault Snooty Nicholls who was immense!! a bit silly for clashing with Bomber after the meeting had already been won though...

Just one thing: who the hell are Brundell and Buzra? Schumi, you need to take more notice of the Premier League then you would have known who they were. Not a bad meeting last night. Impressed with the two Eastbourne guys, Cameron and Simon and Scotty showed the Coventry lot that they chose the wrong one to get rid of. The only Bees rider to impress me was Olly.

The only Bees rider to impress me was Olly. Not " who ate all the pies " Billy then Seriously Allen is improving at a rate of knots .

You've saved me writing my own post uphillracer, thats spot on. The only other thing i'd like to add is, as so often happens when that dark cloud looms, a silver lining appears, this time in the shape of a whooping for Poole by the fleabuses..marvellous

I've known James BrundLE for quite a few years but have no knowledge of a rider called brundELL I enjoyed the coverage last night. Not a lot of Dumber and Dumbest in the studio. Sarah and Louis were very good with the pit interviews and I always enjoy Johnno's comments. Pearson is controlable with the mute button. I even enjoyed the racing which I've not done for quite a while now.
