With Ales Dryml's average being sensibly reviewed and reduced following his serious crash in 2006, maybe it's time the BSPA had another look at the case of Henning Loof. Loof, who has given us an interview, is saddled with an assessed average of 8.00 for the Premier League as a result of just two Danish league meetings he took part in several years ago. Here's a guy resident in the United Kingdom and desperate for the chance to do a job for a team in the sport he loves and he's essentially excluded because of two meetings in Denmark several years ago. Sanity prevailed in the case of Ales Dryml, but let's hope the sanity extends to Henning Loof as well.

Couldn't agree more Sub - if anything Henning is almost a more deserving case as in his case it's rules, not points, that have got him that average in the first place. (Please don't anyone think I'm not delighted for Ales though - 'cos I am!)

When I first read about this bloke some months ago, I was stunned that such a rule existed; here's a guy who clearly wants to ride full time, he wants to be in the British league somewhere, but he's been penalised just because he accepted a couple of meetings abroad that gave him some much needed experience, and probably a few quid into the bargain.
Does history record what his average was across those two meetings?
It's like Man U valuing me at £100K a week on the strength of me being offered a contract by Crystal Palace when I was 17, it's a farce and it needs looking into.

Maybe an email to Sir Michael of Bratley could open some doors for Henning.

Maybe an email to Sir Michael of Bratley could open some doors for Henning. That is, essentially, what he needs - a British promoter to take up his cause at the BSPA.

Yes, but it would probably take a further 12 months now as the BSPA's conference is over - remember the hoo ha about Arena Essex becoming Lakeside? 12 months on, and that has finally been resolved............could the 2008 Conference see justice landing on Henning's lap?

Well, he doesn't want Peter Waite fighting his corner with the BSPA that's for sure, or he'll end up with an assessed average of 12.00.

I'll only end up with a one-line-reply: "Henning, your average in PL will be 7.00 (it is now) and in EL will be 4.00 (dunno if that's still the case now though)" and I dunno what I'd average in PL... I could tell you after 12 meetings

Yeah, but look on the bright side, he could end up with sponsorship from the local greengrocer too!!! And if the greengrocer is as generous as the butchers have been over the last couple of seasons, that'd be worth having. The Andersen family sunk a decent chunk of money into Berwick.

That was my first thought, you might make a bit of a mug of yourself for a season (on the other hand, you might not) but it would give you a proper average.
