Well, I've enjoyed the debate over on the BSF as whether the Sacred Cow of British speedway Middlo should remain in post as team manager of Great Britain, so I thought maybe we should have a debate here as well. Obviously we may well be short of worshippers of the cult of Middlo here, so maybe the debate won't be so heated, but what the hell? My own view is that Middlo shouldn't step down, he should be sacked. His comments after the humiliating last place in the SWC Final were shameful and pathetic:
"They just had so much speed on my boys, you had to have something very, very special around here [Leszno] and the other teams certainly did. We weren't disgraced, everyone played their part in getting here and I'm glad Ollie got a couple of rides as well to make him feel a part, he can say he rode in the world cup, they all can."
Maybe, just maybe, Middlo, if your boys had concentrated on their engines ahead of the final, instead of the sights of Poznan, they'd have had the "something very, very special" that everyone else had. And for your information, your team was disgraced, or were you too embarrassed to read the final scores, which were:
Poland..55 Denmark..52 Australia..29 Great Britain..15
Your top scorer was the former British champion, with seven points, a total that all five Danes exceeded and four of the Poles exceeded. In fact, Krzysztof Kasprzak scored twice as many as Great Britain's top scorer. Okay, so maybe a different manager wouldn't do any better, but they'd struggle to do much worse.

Don't think dear old Len would be interested - he doesn't even manage the Rockets these days. I gather King's Lynn are thinking of proposing their manager. What about Peter Waite - at least he'd have been furious at the showing in the SWC Final and would possibly have tried sacking at least five riders.

Dont know about Rob Lyon either, Uncle Len seems to do okay with his own crop of british youngsters. Peter Waite? Well unless half of Poland ride on a ACU licence then he has no chance.
SUBEDEI FOR TEAM GB.

You beat me to it GM. If think its a bit to deep for me to participate in the topic Sube as I have not sure who else would be good enough for the job etc. Though I would agree that it needs to have a change now and then though just to have a fresh eye and input.

That'd never work. The first time Graham Flint was ref, the British riders would be looking around to find their team manager... who would have walked out of the stadium. ;D ;D Anyway, I don't want anyone on here challenging my position as the best team manager on WWoS!!!

(Shawn isn't a bad lad really) That may be true, but on the other hand, he's Welsh and that's even worse than being a heathen.

Can't see that going down to well with the team captain and national hero, can you? Jim - surely the team captain and the national hero are two different riders. I don't mind Nicholls, but surely Chris Harris is the national hero, not Nicholls. Since when have I said you could address me as Jim?
