There you go mate, I'm a man of my word - seems Jon Cook has overstepped the mark with a pm to the BSF mods calling for a ban on Shazzybird. www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=36578No doubt, by the time you read it, my reply will have been deleted, so here it is unedited (courtesy of Sube and Schumi). "Well let's hope me ol' mate Rob reads this, as it definately seems that Jon has overstepped the mark on this one - and not for one moment am I going to even try to defend him, he is totally out of order!
What I would say though, is since a certain promoter managed to get this forum to delete every post refering to him, things do seem to have gone down hill fast. Now is the time for admin/mods to make a stand and allow the BSF to return to what it once was - a platform for free speech about the sport we all love, and more!!
The promoters have their own web site, and us fans have ours - do we dictate what they put on theirs? So, why should they dictate what we put on ours?"

Hmmmm... not very impressive behaviour by Jon Cook at all.
Stuart Douglas has been a highly progressive new promoter, but this does ask questions about the guy alongside him.
All the best Rob

Hmmmm... not very impressive behaviour by Jon Cook at all. Totally agree, but trust me, when me ol' mate bird introduces herself to him, he'll rue the day he wrote that. As Paulco said in the thread, he's got to be amongst the favourites for Flapperjack this week!

Kev,
Would I be correct in thinking that Stuart Douglas reads both the BSF and this forum?
All the best Rob

Kev, Would I be correct in thinking that Stuart Douglas reads both the BSF and this forum? All the best Rob Well I can't say for certain that he reads them, but let's just say he knows what going on. You should take a look at the superb Lakeside Programme and read the excellent "Ruth, the Cybersleuth" column Rob.

You should take a look at the superb Lakeside Programme and read the excellent "Ruth, the Cybersleuth" column Rob. A column that included the following not so very long ago: Those of you who use our own excellent fans forum may like to know of news that our old mate Subedei seems to have been up to his outspoken tricks again. It would appear that he has upset the moderators and webmasters on a few fans forums and has been ‘struck off’ them so to speak. What will he do now, you may ask! Too late, he’s already cured the problem. He has started up his very own speedway fans forum called, rather aptly, The Weird World of Subedei, where freedom of speech is of paramount importance. In his welcome to my world introduction thread he explains “I can’t possibly be banned from here, right? Yes, after sailing close to the wind on a few occasions at various speedway related forums, I’ve finally gone too far on one or two ( A bit miffed about the Berwick one to be honest, but the Ipswich forum is so dull it’s almost a pleasure to be banned ), so there seemed only one way out. Just one way to guarantee freedom of speech. And that was to set off on my own. So, here it is, my own personal board, where everyone is welcome and where freedom of speech is sacred”. It is well worth a trip on the internet to take a look, but I must warn those of you that are easily offended, that there is very little, if any, censorship and so the posts can be rather ‘colourful’ on occasions, so be prepared. It is however a place where speedway fans actually do speak their minds and so far it has 56 bona fide members discussing many current and contentious speedway issues….but as I say, be warned, it’s not for the faint hearted.

There you go Rob, I guess that says it all - an official Lakeside product 'promoting' the Wierd World!!! Reminds you of the 'Oxford Programme' in many ways doesn't it? ;D

Maybe if we all club together and make a concerted effort to beg we may get some recognition - it seems to work in certain circles at Coventry.

And don't forget, the Subedei roadshow rolls into the bastion of delusion later this month.

Indeed, and referee willing, hoping to catch up with you mate. Already sorted. The golem Flint will not be at the meeting, unless the SCB were lying to me. The referee will be Ronnie Allen.
