Here is an unpublished photo from my photo collection. Just for fun can anyone guess who are the riders? Where was the track and what was the event? (Also, as I am not sure... when it was..) Definately Micheal Lee on the left, PC on the right at Leicester probably a Golden Helmet decider at a neutral track after both riders won their home legs, year about 1979.

Correct. It was a Golden Helmet match race decider between Mike Lee and Peter Collins at Leicester. It was also circa 1979/80. Thanks for taking part. I'll post a much later one tomorrow if you wish. Thanks for everyone for taking part. As a background to the photo. I wanted to submit a photo in a competition for the 'spirit of sport' or something along those lines. After, PC won the final heat I knew they would shake hands so as soon as they passed me I run onto the track and grabbed the shot I wanted. Sadly, it did not work with as much impact as I had in mind.

Would be 1979 since neither Peter Collins, nor Mike Lee, challenged for the Golden Helmet in 1980.

As a fan of PC - ctylr007 this one is for you... Here is one of PC. This was used as a front cover for a kids sports magazine called Scoop or Scoot something like that: Again I cannot remember now for sure but perhaps Paulco will know as it was published in Scotland. I'll post another tomorrow for the guessing game.. Jim

I wouldn't have a clue about these pictures, although Mike Lee was a fair bet in the first one, look how he's trailing his legs behind him while PC is bolt upright, legs almost straight, feet flat on floor, whoever it was had to be a long 'un! However, I do know the magazine was called Scoop, so can I have a mention in dispatches?

I doubt I will Jim, I mean, I read ctylr's comment on 'the unmistakable style of Lee' and just thought "that's a bloke on a speedway bike"! ;D

I know I'm a bit late, but I guessed Lee and Leicester correctly, but made the guy on the outside to be Neil Collins.
Got any more Jim?
