By David Crane, Cambridge Evening News ~ Saturday 12th January 2008 Australian international Craig Watson will decide over the next 48 hours whether to join Mildenhall who have made him their number one target. The 31-year-old from Sydney has returned to his home country to mull over his destiny for next season after being offered deals from Berwick and the Fen Tigers. The former Elite League rider only recently came back onto the market after a return to Poole fell through due to confusion over his average, and the Tigers swiftly swooped in with their interest. www.mildenhallspeedway.com

My friendship with the Mildenhall barmy army is well known . And if Simon can get Wato to sign up for 2008 it would be fantastic . Come on Craig you know it makes sense .

Also interesting to see that Berwick are in the hunt. If you believe what's written on the BSF, PW doesn't seem that bothered by signing riders yet. Just goes to show it's all speculation, and that there are things going on behind the scenes, despite the lack of news.

According to a Poole press release Wato is talking to 3 PL sides and an EL one??
So what do you believe?
Fingers crossed he will sign for Mildenhall

According to a Poole press release Wato is talking to 3 PL sides and an EL one?? So what do you believe? Well, if I were to guess I'd say both are accurate, only the Poole release doesn't name the clubs, and the CEN could only report on the two they knew for certain? The EL side must surely be Ipswich or Coventry, as I don't think Eastbourne have enough points left for him.

Thats my impression Schumi, maybe the Poole release is a little outdated as I cannot imagine Ippo using up their last 5.?? points on Wato.
I assume apart from Mildenhall, Berwick and Newport are the other two PL sides

I'd find it odd if Ipswich were to waste 1 point and sign Wato - he hasn't been mentioned for them in the local press anyway.
Wato would be an excellent signing for us - a true number 1 that we sadly lacked last season.
Apparently there has been a hitch in the rider who was lined up at 3, Fisher?

More likely to be two from Bergstromm / Kessler / Jon Armstrong or Thorp imo

Cant imagine it is Fisher Mildenhall08, as I doubt Legault would recommend him as he is fairly well known, maybe though, whatever he aint coming it seems

Laurence Rogers ruled out Paul Thorp last week Fenman.
Kessler would be a decent signing if we can get him - his record around West Row is better than most top riders'. Jon Armstrong would be fine at reserve for us, but I feel that his 6 point average is a tad too high, and he'd have to be a second string.
It's been a bit quiet on the Bergstrom front - not sure what's going/gone on there. But the same as Kessler - has a better record around West Row than most top riders.
