SOMERSET have added former British Under-21 Champion Josh Bates to their line-up for 2020.
Bates, who started last season with Leicester, has endured an injury-plagued two years and required neck surgery in the summer after a crash at Peterborough ended his campaign.
Rebels boss Garry May said: “You know you are getting full-on effort from Josh, he is an entertainer and in recent seasons has been blighted with injuries.
“Given a clean run then I believe he can certainly build on his 6.19 starting average and it will be good to work with him on regular basis.
“I have always been impressed by his attitude when he has stepped in to guest for us in the past. I remember his valuable contribution for us in the League Cup Final at Glasgow in 2016 when he scored paid-16 out of the reserve berth in the first leg and followed it up with a paid nine at the Oaktree.” www.speedwaygb.co.uk/news.php?extend.37731
