From what appears on various forums and FACEBOOK for British speedway it looks as though the sport is in freefall to disaster. Does any member have opinions on how to keep, revive and stimulate interest in the sport?

The intro Post is about two years ago. Speedway is still taking place in Britain. And I think it will for many years to come - in one format or another.

I often wonder - has the decline in interest for speedway over the past 10 or so years coincided with the use of forums and social media? By and large they tend to carry criticism of the sport and to keep reading them as I see it reduces interest in the sport for many who read them. For a person to keep reading criticism about speedway and its negativity as I think will lead them to the old maxim "find something better to do with my relaxation t time."

Is Speedway still subject to Entertainment Tax that was introduced in 1916? if so, surely governing bodies should be lobbying for change to make more cash available. In the meantime should we be looking at the success of speedway in Poland where they have dedicated stadia and decent sizes crowds AND the majority of top riders. They must be doing something right and perhaps we could learn.
There is a lot of groups, magazines etc that look back to previous eras which is great for me being 72 and having been watch on and off since I was 8 years old but not a lot directed to bringing in the young who have other diversions such as gaming and social media. The sport should be aimed at the young to restore its status.
