The Belle Vue Colts are just one signing short of a complete septet after the club confirmed the addition of local lad David Holt and brand new British prospect Daniel Bewley to their line-up.
They will join forces with Matt Williamson, Rob Shuttleworth, Lee Payne and Tom Woolley for the Cool Running Colts’ resurgence onto the National League stage for the first time in four years.
Holt has become something of a fixture in Manchester since first embarking on his career, featuring most frequently for the team under their MDL guise while briefly branching out to Buxton in 2015.

Team manager Graham Goodwin expressed his delight at the continuing trend of “home grown talent” reflected in his squad, a feature which has always been part of their overall schematic.
He said: “I think most people at Belle Vue will already be familiar with David. He's been with us for a number of years in the Midland Development League, more recently as the captain of the team.
“He's a good lad to have around and I don't think it’s any great surprise that we’re giving him the opportunity to step up to the National League with us because it’s somewhere he deserves to be.
“This is an avenue we’ve been discussing for a while now. He joined Buxton for a spell last season on the proviso that he would return to the Colts this year to ride for us, being our asset.
“What we’re looking for is riders who have that connection with Belle Vue, who want to be here and who want to move forward with us. That’s something David wanted and it’s what we wanted too.”
Newcomer Bewley is a complete freshman to the speedway scene, having made the switch from motocross at the end of last season, and comes highly recommended from a number of sources.
GB international Craig Cook is just one of those sources, along with the legendary Steve Lawson who has pitching in to help the 16-year old prepare for his maiden season in the National League.
Said Goodwin: “Danny is very new to this sport. Only towards the back end of last season, and over the course of the winter, has he really completed the switch from motocross to speedway.
“He is a very raw talent at this stage but we've already seen examples of what he can do up at Glasgow and at Scunthorpe, where he’s been having a few practice spins under watchful eyes.
“It has to be said, we were very impressed with what we saw. He's got speed, he's got balance and he's got track craft but there’s a lot of things he's still got to learn like perfecting his gating.
“Developing young talent is very much a part of what we’re gearing towards here at Belle Vue and though he’s got a long way to go to learn his trade, we see him as an excellent prospect.”
