CRADLEY Heathens will launch an exciting new era back at Wolverhampton on Easter Monday, March 28.
The National League's fixture compilers are currently working hard to come up with a defined list following the release of Elite and Premier League schedule.
With Wolverhampton launching their home campaign on the Tuesday night against Belle Vue, it frees up the Bank Holiday for the Heathens who are set to pull in a bumper crowd after their move back from Perry Barr.
Heathens officials have also revealed they are to offer free admission to their opening night to all members of the Ollie Ommer Children's Club as they look to continue encouraging a new generation of fans.
The new-look Heathens team will meet supporters for the first time at Cradley Heath Liberal Club on Monday March 21 for their season launch night which will be hosted by popular club presenter Ian 'Porky' Jones. Only 40 tickets remain for the event at £5 and are available from the club shop in Cradley Heath Market or via the club's official website cradleyheathens.co via paypal.
Press and practice will be shared with Wolverhampton the following night, Tuesday March 22, from 7pm onwards.
Heathens Director Nigel Pearson said: "It's an exciting time for the club and as we are opening during the Easter Holidays I'm sure we will see a bumper turnout.
"The ultimate aim for this club remains to see us racing back in the Dudley / Sandwell area, but for now there is no doubt the next best thing is Monmore Green and we are all delighted to be back there.
"We will continue to work with our planning experts on land we feel may be suitable and, in the meantime, if another party believes they have a suitable venue then our door is always open to discuss this with them.
"It's great to see the response from everyone, Gary Patchett and Will Pottinger have done a smashing job with the team and Chris Van Straaten and Dr Rod Brooks did sterling work to enable us to return to Monmore. It's time to look forward and enjoy."

CRADLEY have snapped up Tyler Govier as a replacement for long-term injury victim James Purchase. Govier made 11 appearances for the Motor Market Heathens in 2015 before making the switch to the Isle of Wight this season. He put in some strong performances for the Warriors but lost his team place after suffering concussion in a heavy crash against the Heathens on August 4. The 20-year-old is now fighting fit and relishing the chance to don the famous Heathens race jacket once again. With the club desperately fighting to secure their place in the National League play-offs, Govier is determined to come in and play his part. “To be back with such a great club is a privilege and I’m really looking forward to it,” Govier said. “Being dropped by the Isle of Wight was a bit of a disappointment given the way my season was going, but injuries took their toll a bit. “I think things have worked out better now, being back with Cradley, and I’m delighted to get the opportunity. “My main aim is to come in and score a few points to help Cradley win some more meetings. Hopefully we can do enough to get into the play-offs then take it from there.” Govier will make his Cradley return as they travel to Kent on Monday (6.30) before hosting Stoke at Monmore Green on Tuesday (7.30).

From the SGB website: :::::: CRADLEY will race into another season – after surviving another winter scare.
The world-famous Heathens, who lost their Dudley Wood Stadium to housing development in 1995, have reached agreement to stay at Wolverhampton’s Monmore Green for the majority of their 2017 home matches.
They will also be racing some meetings at Perry Barr in Birmingham thanks to the co-operation of both clubs.
With Wolverhampton now needing a minimum of 18 Mondays for the expanded SGB Premiership, serious doubts emerged over whether the Heathens could be accommodated.
But thanks to both Ladbrokes and the Wolverhampton Speedway management, they will race on Mondays there and a handful of regular Wednesdays at Birmingham.
Heathens bosses would like to express their sincere appreciation to Wolverhampton, Birmingham and stadium landlords for making the venues available.
This was the only viable solution in order to keep the club on track for an eighth successive season – the alternative was closure with no immediate prospect of a piece of land for the club nearer to the Cradley area.
Whilst the club acknowledge doubts over the club’s future are never ideal in the winter, they remain committed to taking the Heathens into a stadium of their own – although they have yet to hold further talks with Dudley Council.
The club hope the loyal fanbase will continue to back the team – which is set for a major revamp with several new signings – at both Wolverhampton and Birmingham.
Once the number of fixtures is established at the National League AGM on December 13, season ticket prices will be announced. A season ticket sales night has been provisionally arranged for Thursday December 15 at Cradley Heath Liberal Club.

CRADLEY have made young gun Joe Lawlor their first signing ahead of the 2017 campaign.
The Heathens have moved to secure the services of talented 16-year-old to start the season at reserve on a 3.00 average.
Lawlor made eight guest appearances for the club towards the end of last season – and he has spoken of his delight after being handed a full-time team place for 2017.
“I’m over the moon!” Lawlor said. “I didn’t think it was going to come to be honest, but I’m really pleased to have the chance to be with Cradley full-time.
“I had some good times there as a guest last season. I enjoyed the track and I got a great response from the crowd.
“I enjoyed myself in the meetings I had, and I’m looking forward to riding for the Heathens next season.”
Meanwhile, co-promoter Gary Patchett is confident Lawlor will build on the experience he gained in green, red and white last season to continue his development.
Patchett said: “Joe came on leaps and bounds last year, largely due to the experience gained riding as our No.8 in the main body of the team.
“He showed at the end of the season how he had benefitted from that with some high scoring performances guesting for other teams.
“It’s fair to say he wasn’t short of offers for 2017, and we’re delighted that he opted to start his speedway career with us. We feel sure that he’ll prove to be a trump card at reserve for us.”Attachments:

From the SGB website: :::: CRADLEY have announced the return to the club of Tom Perry for the 2017 National League season.
Perry has captained the Heathens’ local rivals Birmingham to back-to-back titles in the last two campaigns but now heads back to the club with which he launched his career in 2010.
Cradley boss Will Pottinger said: “It's fantastic to be able to bring Tom back into our team and we're all really looking forward to working with him again.
“He guested for us a couple of times last season and he reminded us of what a great rider he is to have in your side both on and off the track.
“With the signings of both Tom and Joe Lawlor, we feel we are sending out a real statement of intent. 2013 and 2014 were absolutely fantastic seasons for our club - and we're going to do everything we can to make sure 2017 falls into that same bracket!”

From the SGB website: ::::: CRADLEY have announced former title winner Dan Greenwood as their fourth signing for next season.
The Derbyshire racer first joined the Heathens in 2012 and was a key part of the side who lifted the club's first League Championship in 30 years in 2013.
After a couple of years with the Coventry Storm, Greenwood now rejoins the Heathens and is confident of building on his bargain 6.82 starting average and regaining the form that has seen him race as a consistent third tier No.1.
Said Greenwood: "I'm really happy to be back with the club and I'm really looking forward to next year.
"2013 was a great season with some good memories and hopefully 2017 will be the same.
"2016 was a tough year for me; it was very stop start but I'm only looking forwards now and I'm determined to have a good season with Cradley.
"I'm feeling up for the fresh challenge and I feel rejuvenated. We've got a really good team on paper so far and we're all confident that we can be serious challengers for the title again."
Heathens team manager Will Pottinger said: "Dan knows the club and we know Dan very well so this is a very good move for all parties.
"He should prove to be a real steal on the average he comes in on and we all know that he is capable of so much at this level.
"Dan is a great addition to the side and we couldn't be happier with the four signings that we've made so far."
THERE will be a second season ticket sales night after record numbers at Cradley Heath Liberal Club.
Heathens will host the evening next Thursday, December 22, again at the Liberal Club, from 7.30.

From the SGB website: ::: CRADLEY have snapped up Wearside racer Ryan Burton for their revamped side.
Burton, 23, spent his debut season with Buxton notching an average of 3.37, and is now set to start the 2017 campaign at reserve for the Heathens alongside Joe Lawlor.
Co-promoter Gary Patchett said: “For 2017 Will (Pottinger) and I both preferred a team that featured riders with experience at reserve.
“We agreed that we needed to keep Joe at reserve even after his average had been re-assessed at 3.59.
“Ryan has had the benefit of a season's experience with Buxton after switching to speedway and even though a large part of that was spent riding in their top five he still increased his starting average.
“He's sure to have benefitted from that experience and we look forward to seeing what he can achieve.”Share This: Facebook Twitter Attachments:

CRADLEY have just one team spot to fill after agreeing a deal to bring Conor Dwyer to the club for 2017.
Dwyer, who spent the last two seasons with the Coventry Strom, joins on a 4.05 average – a figure he is confident he can build on around a Monmore Green circuit he favours.
“A lot of people won’t know, but I’ve actually already done plenty of laps around Monmore,” Dwyer said.
“Last season, I raced in almost every second half after Wolves’ Elite League meetings so it shouldn’t take me too long to settle at all.
“I think we’ve got a strong team on paper and we should definitely be in the mix all season long.
“Being based in Coventry, it will be good to race for another fairly local team and I’m looking forward to meeting the supporters.”

From the SGB website: CRADLEY have completed their 2017 side with the signing of young gun Luke Harris.
Harris, 18, rode for the Heathens in 2015 and will now return to the club as part of a revamped side for next season.
The talented teenager joins on a 3.95 average and will start the season in the main body of the side.
Harris returns to the West Midlands after a successful spell with Eastbourne in 2016 – and co-promoter Gary Patchett believes he has “unfinished business” in green, red and white.
“It would be fair to say Luke has some unfinished business as a Heathen,” Patchett said.
“He's had two years of experience now in the National League and was unlucky to be in and out of the Eagles team at the end of last season as they sought to give track time to Tom Brennan.
“Having to start in the top 5 will be a challenge but it's one Luke is ready to accept and is certainly up to.
“We're delighted to welcome him back and in announcing the full team as early as this we can now fully focus on the build up to the new season.”
Meanwhile, Harris is delighted to be back with the Heathens and is keen to hit the ground running when the campaign gets underway.
“I’m really pleased to get a chance to go back to Cradley,” Harris added. “Even though it was a difficult season I enjoyed my time there in 2015.
“I just want to build on last season and make sure I do much better for the Heathens this time around.
“I’m already excited for the season, so I’ll just try and get off to a good start and keep my momentum going from last year.”Attachments:
