From the SpeedwayGB website: ::::: WOLVERHAMPTON youngster Max Clegg hopes to continue his spectacular individual form when the Elite League play-offs get underway on Wednesday.
The teenage reserve has had a week he'll remember for the rest of his life after a sensational double saw him win both the British Under-19 Final plus the National League Riders' Championship – and now he’s looking to play his part in Wolves’ semi-final trip to Poole.
Said Clegg: “It's been an awesome week for me but I've felt for a while that something like this was coming. Everything just seems to have clicked into place the last couple of months and I'm delighted with how things are going.
“There's still lots of hard work to do though and I want to be a key part for all of my clubs.
“With Wolves, we're at Poole on Wednesday and we're going there full of confidence. We're going there for the win of course but if we can't do that then it's just about keeping it as close as we can for the second leg.”Attachments:

From the SGB website:: :::::: WOLVERHAMPTON have confirmed the signing of Freddie Lindgren ahead of the 2017 season.
Lindgren, 31, will lead the Parrys International Wolves into the SGB Premiership campaign, starting the year in the No.1 spot on a 10.09 average.
The Swedish star is entering his 14th season at Monmore Green and is thrilled to have quickly agreed a deal to stay in gold and black.
Lindgren said: “When I made the decision that I wanted to come back and race in England, my obvious choice was Wolverhampton.
“That was always my first choice, it’s the club I’ve always ridden for in England and I’ve always enjoyed my time there.
“I’m happy to have been able to agree a deal with the promotion at Wolves, and I’m happy to return again next year.
“Last season was a good one for me, but the plan is to keep that going and my aim is to have an even better year in 2017.”
Co-promoter Chris Van Straaten is pleased to have got their team building off to a perfect start by retaining Lindgren.
And he is now keen to get to work “fitting in the remaining pieces of the jigsaw” as they bid to retain their top flight title.
Van Straaten added: “Obviously we’ve been working on this for some time, because with his average at over 10 points it takes up more than 20% of our 50-point limit.
“We had to put him in place before we could start building the rest of the team, but we also had to make sure everything worked logistically both for him and the club.
“We’ve worked hard to make sure we can have him back. We feel we’ve now got the corners in place and we can now start fitting in the remaining pieces of the jigsaw.”Attachments:

From the SGB website: ::::::
WOLVERHAMPTON have made Jacob Thorssell their second signing ahead of the 2017 SGB Premiership campaign.
The Swedish star will be back in Parrys International Wolves colours for the sixth straight season, joining Freddie Lindgren as the latest confirmed member of their side.
Thorssell, 23, has made exceptional progress since first arriving at Monmore Green midway through the 2012 season and will return on a 9.88 average.
The young gun has become a firm favourite with supporters in recent years – and he insists he never had any doubts about staying with the club.
“It’s very good to be back, and there weren’t really any other thoughts from my side,” Thorssell said.
“When CVS (co-promoter Chris Van Straaten) told me he wanted me I was very pleased, so it’s great to have things sorted and to be back for another year.
“Hopefully we’ll have another successful season like last season and I can keep moving forwards individually as well.”
Meanwhile, co-promoter Chris Van Straaten has revealed how Thorssell changed his plans for the 2017 season in order to allow him to return to British racing.
He added: “Jacob has grown in stature ever since he joined the club, and I think he appreciates the role British speedway has played in his career so far.
“He took two steps forward last year in many ways, and as a result he caught the eye of Ekstraliga club Zielona Gora in Poland, which brings about specific restrictions about the number of leagues he can ride in elsewhere.
“As a result, he's curtailed his Swedish commitments on a Thursday to enable him to ride for us, and we appreciate the steps he's taken to be back.
“We’re delighted to have him back, it’s a good start to team building alongside the signing of Freddie (Lindgren) and we believe he can keep developing with us in 2017.”Attachments:

From the SGB website: :::: WOLVERHAMPTON have unveiled two more of their title heroes to remain with the club next season.
British talents Kyle Howarth (photo) and Max Clegg will be back for the title defence in the rebranded SGB Premiership where they will link up with Fredrik Lindgren and Jacob Thorssell.
Said Howarth: “I'm over the moon to be back in the side for next year and it's going to be good being with so many of this season's side again.
“Overall I was pretty happy with how things went - but I know I've still got more to give.”
Clegg added: “I'll still be learning as I go but last season was awesome and it taught me a lot. Wolves is such a great club and I love racing at Monmore Green too and I couldn't be happier to be back for another year.”

WOLVERHAMPTON have secured the services of title hero Sam Masters for the 2017 season.
The popular Australian will be back with the Wolves for the second straight season as they go in search of SGB Premiership glory.
Masters’ return means the Monmore men have retained five members of their triumphant 2016 side.
He is back on an 8.97 average meaning Wolves have 9.53 points left remaining in order to fill their final two team places.
Co-promoter Chris Van Straaten is thrilled to have kept the core of their team together and believes Masters will once again play a big role next season.
“We’re delighted Sam can continue with Wolverhampton,” Van Straaten said. “We’re really pleased we are able to keep our top three from last year’s side, because it isn’t often the title winners can manage to do that.
“It’s a good move for the club and the team spirit because they all get on very well, and we’re very excited for what they can achieve again next season.
“We felt Sam showed a huge amount of maturity and progress last season. He certainly helped us and I think we helped him to an extent as well.
“We very much believe he can keep that progress going in 2017 and have another successful season for us.”
Meanwhile, a delighted Masters says he never had any doubts when offered the chance to extend his stay in gold and black.
He added: “It feels awesome to be back. When Chris (Van Straaten, co-promoter) asked me if I wanted to come back I didn’t even have to think about it.”

From the SGB website: ::: WOLVERHAMPTON have completed their 2017 side with the signings of Adam Skornicki and Nathan Greaves.
Club legend Skornicki, 40, will make a dramatic return to Monmore Green on a re-assessed 7.22 average after almost three years away from the sport.
The Polish hero last appeared in gold and black in 2013 and has not been involved in league racing since dislocating his hip riding for Birmingham in 2014.
But he will now return to his spiritual home as the Wolves look to retain their top flight title in the revamped SGB Premiership.
Meanwhile, 18-year-old Greaves will be the only new face in a familiar Wolves side next season after being handed a path back into the top tier on a 2.26 average.
The four-time British Youth Champion, who spent time with Swindon in 2014, will be back at the Monmore Green track where he made his introduction to senior racing with Cradley.
Co-promoter Chris Van Straaten believes they have completed their side in the best possible manner.
He is backing Skornicki to utilise his experience to play a big role and feels Greaves will be able to thrive in a no-pressure environment.
“With the points we had left, there were different ways of going about this,” Van Straaten said. “We considered five-point and four-point riders, but in the end we decided to go with a slightly stronger rider in the top five.
“What can you say about Skornicki? He’s a Monmore Green legend and we’re delighted to have him back.
“When he mentioned about halfway through last year he wanted to come back to British speedway, we thought he may perhaps be better suited to a lower level.
“With the strength having changed in British speedway, there’s a chance for him to be a second string at Wolves and I think he has enough pedigree to do well in that role.
“He’s almost like a lucky charm, a bit like Peter Karlsson. Whenever he’s in a team they tend to be successful.
“He’s very good for team spirit and very good for showmanship. Showmen are a dying breed in some ways, but he’s always entertaining and a huge favourite with our fans.
“With the race format changes I think the reserve races are slightly less critical this year, and Max (Clegg) has shown he has the potential to become the leading reserve this year.
“We firmly believe that with the strength of the rest of the team there won’t be any pressure on Nathan and he can enjoy it.
“He actually signed for Wolverhampton shortly after his 16th birthday on the recommendation of Sam Ermolenko, but there’s never really been a time when it’s been suitable to use him until now.
“Sam has played a part and will continue to play a part. It’s an ideal opportunity for Nathan as he can develop at his own pace.
“We need to try and light the blue touch paper with his career, because things have stalled a bit after he burst onto the scene as a big talent at 16. We need to get his career on the up again and believe we can do that.
“Me and Peter (Adams) are delighted with what we’ve been able to do with the team. We’re only a shade under the 40-point limit and we’re excited for the season to get underway.”

From the SGB website: :::::: FREDDIE Lindgren is the first name to be confirmed for Peter Karlsson’s Farewell meeting.
The two Swedes have spent a large number of seasons racing together across Europe and were both major contributors in Wolverhampton’s Elite League successes of 2009 and 2016.
Karlsson brings down the curtain on his British career at Monmore Green on Sunday March 19, and plans to use a Pairs format for the meeting.
He said: “Me and Freddie go back a fairly long way now and he was always one rider I definitely wanted to be there on my big day.
“I want a mixture of current riders as well as riders who have shared plenty of successful and happy memories with me down the years.
“Freddie fits into both of those categories I guess and being at Wolverhampton, he’ll have a lot of the fans keeping a close eye on him I’m sure."

From the SGB/BSPA website: ::::::: WOLVERHAMPTON legend Mikael Max will make a rare appearance back at Monmore Green at the start of the 2017 season.
Max will fly into the UK with Magnus Karlsson for 'PK - The Final Word' as their brother Peter Karlsson bids farewell to British Speedway (Sunday, March 19, 5pm).
The 43-year-old still sits third in Wolverhampton's all-time highest scorers list and remains a popular figure at WV2.
“It's going to be fantastic to come back to Wolverhampton for the day and it should be a day we all remember,” said Max.
“Obviously the day is all about Pete, but for me it's going to be a special day too because it's been so long since I last saw so many people.
“When Pete asked me to do a bit in his last meeting I was over the moon and it will be a special day for the family to have all three of us back at the club that has done so much for us and our careers for one final time.”
