THE HAMMERS IN HOME MONDAY ACTION
Following their victory against the King’s Lynn Stars on Friday the Vortex Lakeside Hammers face a busy week ahead with home fixtures starting this evening (Monday 22nd) against the Wolverhampton Wolves followed by the Leicester Lions (Friday 26th) and an away trip to Norfolk where they take on the Stars on Thursday (25th). Tonight’s action against the Wolves, sees both teams at full strength in a meeting that starts at the slightly earlier time of 7.30pm. The Hammers will be looking to gain revenge on the two point home defeat to the Midlander’s back in April, when former Hammer Peter Karlsson helped his team take maximum heat advantages in the last two heats to snatch victory. Hammers fans are reminded that Adult and Concession admission for Monday’s meeting will be just £10 on production of the match day programme purchased at last Friday’s King’s Lynn match. Teams: Vortex Lakeside Hammers: 1) Andreas Jonsson (C), 2) Mikkel Bech, 3) Edward Kennett, 4) Richard Lawson, 5) Kim Nilsson, 6) Adam Ellis (EDR), 7) Ashley Birks (EDR)
Wolverhampton Parrys International Wolves: 1) Fredrik Lindgren, 2) Jacob Thorssell, 3) Tobais Musieilak, 4) Ricky Wells, 5) Peter Karlsson, 6) Lewis Blackbird (EDR), 7) Josh Bates (EDR).

Thursday 25th June 2015 THE HAMMERS ARE BACK AGAIN ON FRIDAY
The Vortex Lakeside Hammers race their third home meeting in eight days at the Arena Essex Raceway this Friday 22nd June with the Leicester Lions being the visitors, who include popular former Hammers rider Piotr Swiderski in their side. It's the last action for a fortnight as the Speedway world prepares to decamp to Cardiff for next week’s British Grand Prix. Jon Cook stated: "We've shown huge improvement in the last two home meetings and need to take that level of performance into the clash with the Lions who will be no pushovers. With Grand Prix star Jason Doyle and Piotr (Swiderski), who'll have a real point to prove having been in our plans before we decided against a fourth commuting rider, it promises to be an exciting match to sign off this busy period for the Club." Teams: Vortex Lakeside Hammers: Andreas Jonsson (C), Mikkel Bech, Edward Kennett, Richard Lawson, Davey Watt (G), Adam Ellis (EDR), Ashley Birks (EDR). Leicester Lions: Jason Doyle (C), Richie Worrall (G), Grzegorz Walasek, Szymon Wozniak, Piotr Swiderski, Simon Lambert (EDR), Josh Bates (G) (EDR).

On SGB website - Lakeside are going for a third successive home win when they host Leicester at Purfleet.
The Hammers have beaten King’s Lynn and Wolverhampton at home in the last week and club chief Jon Cook wants to see that form continue against a Lions side who hand a debut to former Lakeside man Piotr Swiderski.
Cook said: “We've shown huge improvement in the last two home meetings and need to take that level of performance into the clash with the Lions who will be no pushovers.
“With Grand Prix star Jason Doyle and Piotr, who'll have a real point to prove having been in our plans before we decided against a fourth commuting rider, it promises to be an exciting match to sign off this busy period for the club.”
The Lions have Richie Worrall and Josh Bates making guest appearances, and boss Norrie Allan said: “Across the two meetings (last weekend) there were some positive signs overall and the inclusion of Grzegorz Walasek again was a big plus and a boost to morale in the team.
“I am not saying that we are suddenly going to march up the league table as that would be folly, but we should at least be aiming for consistency at home and working on our away form and then that elusive first Elite League win on the road will become a reality and hopefully we can get something out of our visit to Lakeside.”
