NOW ON THE BELLE VUE WEBSITE: www.bellevueaces.co/ A late change to their choice of Elite Draft Reserve will see Belle Vue hand Ipswich-born rider Joe Jacobs the opportunity to return to racing after the club parted ways with Steve Boxall.
Both parties mutually accepted that it was in Boxall’s best interest to step down from their line-up, thus allowing 22-year old Jacobs to step up to the Rentruck Aces’ No.7 berth for the new season.
Initially a product of the 2008 Academy League, during which time he rode for Rye House, the enthusiastic southerner made his National League debut the following year with Mildenhall.
In 2013 an opportunity presented itself for him to join the Glasgow Tigers, which he grasped with both hands, and since then he has been linked with such clubs as Peterborough and Workington. His first and only permanent appearance for an Elite League team came with the introduction of the Fast Track system in 2014 when he was selected to ride for the Wolverhampton Wolves.
That same campaign saw the youngster having to contend with quite the saturated schedule owing to his additional commitments in both the National League and the Premier League.
Having sat out of competitive racing last year, and with the new season just around the corner, Grundisburgh-based Jacobs is now eager to get back into action for the next chapter in his career.
His keen attitude has not escaped the attention of club bosses and Aces supremo Chris Morton believes the decision to make the switch at reserve will prove to be a fruitful one in the long run.
He continued: “We are very pleased to confirm that Joe Jacobs will take his place as our second reserve in 2016 following the mutual agreement that Steve Boxall will not be included in our team.
“Having seen him ride in 2014, myself and the Belle Vue management were impressed with what we saw with Joe and when Neil Vatcher made us aware of his availability we gave him a call.
“Making the switch feels like the right thing to do for the club. He has a lot of talent and his attitude towards his racing is spot on, and he's very keen to resume normal service and further his career.
“His reasons for not riding last year are something we fully understand and we applaud his return to the circuit, and we firmly believe that he can and will make a significant contribution to the team.
“We hope he is able to do that and there’s really no reason why he can’t. He’s a talented individual who has our complete support and we’re confident he will be a valuable member of the team.”

On the SGB website::: ::::::::
RICHIE Worrall faces a short spell on the sidelines after confirmation he sustained a broken rib in his crash at Glasgow last weekend.
Worrall tangled with Berwick’s Matthew Wethers and also suffered muscle and tissue damage to his back, all of which ruled him out of Belle Vue’s defeat at Swindon on Thursday and the Tigers’ weekend schedule.
Worrall said: “Right now I’m just taking it day by day. I've been doing physio every other day since the crash but I think on Tuesday I might have overdone it a bit because the day after I felt pretty uncomfortable.
“I’m hoping to be back on the bike before our (Belle Vue’s) match against King’s Lynn on Bank Holiday Monday, and with the Poole match off it’s given me a few more days to make as much progress as I can.
“My aim is to rest up until Wednesday, then try to get going with some light training and gradually work myself up to having a few laps next Saturday, but that depends on how the week unfolds.”

From the SGB website: ::::: GORDAN Pairman has ruled himself out of the running to take over at Belle Vue.
The Poole co-promoter was one of a number of interested but has decided against leading a consortium to take charge of the Aces.
Pairman said: “I was approached about buying in to Belle Vue towards the end of last season, but decided to wait until after the league play offs before taking it further.
“At the end of November, through Chris Morton’s intervention, I was invited to meet with a key member of Manchester City Council to find out if there was a way forward. As a consequence of that meeting, I submitted a business proposal to the council.
“I put a shareholder structure and a management team together that would ensure the survival of what to many is the biggest name in world speedway, but I have run out of time to make anything happen.
“I am out of the country for most of the rest of January and am already committed to other matters for much of February, and Belle Vue needs someone who can both commit a large sum of money to the enterprise, and more time than I now have available.
“During my discussions, I have kept my co-promoter and the owner of Poole Speedway, Matt Ford, fully informed and I really appreciate him keeping the door open for me at Poole.
“The six seasons I have been involved there have been, in speedway terms, my most enjoyable, and I am looking forward to being back at Wimborne Road in March.
“I’m really sorry to miss out on the opportunity at Belle Vue, but the circumstances have worked against me.
“I'd like to put on record my thanks to Manchester City Council for everything they have done and are doing to make the National Speedway Stadium and the Belle Vue Aces a success and to wish the best of luck to whomsoever is favoured by BSPA to take over this icon of speedway.”Attachments:

The British Speedway Promoters Association has confirmed troubled Manchester giants Belle Vue will come to the tapes this year.
The Aces were kicked out of the National Speedway Stadium at the end of last season after failing to pay any rent to Manchester City Council.
Talks have been ongoing for months behind the scenes between the BSPA, local authority and potential new promoters.
Former Aces promoter Gordon Pairman recently ruled himself and his consortium out of the race to take over the Elite League runners-up, but this morning, the BSPA tweeted that the club’s future has been secured.
A post on their @speedwaygb account read: “We are pleased to finally confirm Belle Vue WILL be racing this year. Full details on the new management will be announced soon.”
The Aces must now build a team, despite seven of their rivals having completed their sides, with recently-saved Leicester also yet to announce a rider.
But it is believed Belle Vue favourites Craig Cook, Max Fricke and brothers Richie and Steven Worrall have been reserved for the Aces and are said to be likely starters at Kirkmanshulme Lane this year.

From the SGB/BSPA website: ::::: BRITISH Speedway bosses have moved to assure worried Belle Vue fans everything is still in place for the Aces to race in the 2017 SGB Premiership.
New promoters are ready to invest in the club and they have been approved by Manchester City Council, who oversee the National Speedway Stadium.
The matter is now in the hands of Manchester City Council’s legal department but the new management are actively seeking to secure signings to make up their team.
In addition, they have impressed British Speedway Chairman Keith Chapman and will become members of the British Speedway Promoters’ Association once the legal formalities are completed at council level.
Said Chapman: “They are good people and I feel certain they will be good for the sport.
“It’s frustrating for the fans because of the long wait in making an announcement but it’s all down to the legal issues. Hopefully the matter will be concluded in a matter of days.”
