Ray Tauser is an under publicised American rider from speedway's pioneer days. He was at Wimbledon in the early days and won the 1931 Star Championship - in status comparable to the World Championship. He also rode in Australia and New Zealand and after being 'forced out' of British speedway in 1932 because of technicalities on foreign riders, continued racing on tracks in Central and East Coast USA until circa 1937. Is more detailed background available on Tauser? I tried Wikipedia without much luck except for a scant reference to his Star Championship success.
