Yes, if the son of a fascist thought a few legal threats would be enough to bring the News of the World to its knees, a glance at this morning's edition would surely disabuse him. "MY NAZI ORGY WITH F1 BOSS" was the banner headline on the front page of the newspaper and a further four pages were given over to the scandal, including an editorial where the paper dismissed Mosley as "A vain deviant with no sense of truth or honour". Other prominent statements from the paper were "Max death camp lust", "Secret tape reveals vile Mosley's true depravity" and "Sick Mosley's vile Nazi style rant at hooker". I rather think that means the News of the World has no intention of backing down and is ready for a fight. Last year the son of a fascist parked his tanks on the lawn of Ron Dennis, but now, when he looks out of his window, he'll see Rupert Murdoch's nuclear arsenal pointed straight at him. I can't see any way Mosley can win this - the News of the World's lawyers wouldn't have allowed publication if they weren't absolutely sure the evidence would stand up in court. He'd be a wiser man if he just disappeared. But arrogance, conceit and hubris are likely to lead to a painful fall.

From planetf1:
Max Mosley's hopes of retaining the presidency of the FIA have been dealt a hefty blow by another series of damaging newspaper allegations - although these at least do not make any mention of sordid sex antics.
Having been banned from the Bahrain GP by the principality's Crown Prince following those reports in the News of the World, The Times claims that an enraged Mosley called Bernie Ecclestone and 'shouted abuse down the phone about the Gulf Kingdom and said he did not want to go there again'. Unfortunately for Mosley, Ecclestone was at the time sitting next to the Crown Prince, who is believed to have heard every word - or at least the salient details.
While Mosley is understood to have since phoned the Bahraini ruler to apologise, the disclosure will only strengthen the widely-held belief that he has become a hindrance to the sport.
In any case, Mosley is surely already fatally wounded and his imminent removal from office has seemingly become inevitable.
From the moment the F1 circus arrived in Bahrain on Thursday to the time it left on Sunday, not a single influential voice was raised in his support and, according to The Daily Telegraph, even Bernie Ecclestone 'has privately accepted his old comrade has to go, but was hoping he would not be required to handle the instrument of execution. Now, he has no choice'.

The FIA will vote on Mosley's future on the 3rd June in a secret ballot.
Meanwhile, Montoya's take on it all: "Of course I saw the video! I loved that. I did. I did."

I believe Mosely's position with the FIA is a non-salaried one . Which could be his saving grace . Although the FIA might as well give the post to Jean Todt and be done with it , as Ferarri call the shots anyway .

Today is the day of the vote and I really can't see how Mosley's going to survive this one. Although I do think they're going to have to drag him out kicking and screaming should the vote go against him.

Seems that the shamefully, shameless Mosley has survived his vote of no confidence, but that FIA could now split: www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3213_3644425,00.html I reckon Bernie will hire a hitman.

What a load of crap. From Planet F1:
"Mosley, who won by a clear majority of 103 to 55 with seven abstentions and four null papers, was understood to be delighted with the result."
There had to be some sort of bargaining going on there.

Schumi - I think it's a bit like in parliament, although there are different types of whips involved.

Looks like a little bribery helped the shamefully, shameless Mosley keep his job: www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3213_3644663,00.html

So Mosely stayed in power despite receiving the backing of just 5% of FIA members: www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3213_3647896,00.html One country, one vote is clearly ridiculous, and FIA now looks like it will be ripped apart. If Mosley had any decency, he'd resign. But sadly he doesn't.
