Really hoping this happens now. Sure the "old man" can show the new kid a thing or two.

I'm going to this!! If this were to happen it would be brilliant, but looking at the website, Hamilton isn't mentioned But fear not because Button has challenged Coulthard

Another interesting event is three time WRC winner Sebastien Loeb testing a Renault R27 at Paul Ricard next month, with Heikki Kovalainen swapping seats and testing Loeb's Citroen C4.
Rally drivers always seem to do pretty well in circuit cars, I wonder how well Heikki will do in the WRC car.

I doubt if Lewis's contract with McLare will allow hom to do it. If he does, he'd better watch out... as he comes around to lap Schumacher, I bet the old git tries to catch him with his walking stick ;D ;D

Is this like the Uefa Champions league then? where you don't actually have to be a Champion ( Hamilton) to take part. ;D

He's the former champion of the European Formula A series, Formula Renault UK, Formula 3 Euroseries and started the season as reigning GP2 champion, don't they count?

DonsKing - obviously not in ctylr007's eyes. It would be a pretty limited field if only F1 champions were allowed... how many are still racing?

Now Hakkinen's thrown in the towel, only Alonso, Raikkonen and Mansell, I think. Edit: possibly Alan Jones as well, I know he used to turn out for feature races like Bathurst from time to time, BFD would probably know.

Would be limited to the absolute Elite then , suppose thats what comes of having a driver so dominate as Schumacher , may as well call it the" Race of the quite talented"

Would be limited to the absolute Elite then , suppose thats what comes of having a driver so dominate as Schumacher , may as well call it the" Race of the quite talented" It was actually started as a showcase for rally drivers, that's why they still compete for the Henri Toivenen trophy, drivers (and riders, Valentino Rossi has competed as well) from other disciplines came along later. Interestingly, from the point of view of speedway, it was instigated by the most successfull female rally driver of all time, Michelle Mouton, and the IMG.

Michael Schumacher took out Casey Stoner's MotoGP Ducati for a about 50 laps of the Valencia circuit a day after the recent GP there. His best time was about 5 seconds slower than lap record holder Dani Pedrosa at 1:37.2 Pretty quick for a guy on that bike for the first time.
