And if you'd been at Arlington in the evening Genghis, you'd also have seen a match winning fencing by Damien of the lovely Peter Ljung. I've never been a particular fan, but I'm sorry the man is just a complete lunatic. It's seriously not funny anymore I think we were very unlucky in both meetings. If we hadn't lost Adam in a very nasty crash at home, and if Swidders hadn't been so under the weather, we would have won the meeting at home. At Arlington, we made a much better fist of it than I was expecting to be honest, given that we were R/R for Adam who would have scored a hatful, and we had Lubos Tomicek deputising for Swidders. We very nearly took a point off them - largely thanks to a captain's performance from our No.1. He rode a superb race in Heat 15 despite taking a fair bit of stick from the very partisan Eastbourne crowd. It was a long, tiring day but very enjoyable despite the two defeats and it only reinforced to me that if we manage to get all of our boys firing at the same time, we have the makings of a half decent team. Unfortunately we paid the price for running an afternoon meeting on a very hot and dry day. Despite dumping as much water into the track as it was possible to get on it, it was a dustbowl after every second heat which was a shame. Still lovely to watch speedway on a sunny afternoon in front of our biggest ever paying crowd though Regrettably I didn't get to see the Hawks meeting which followed ours, but most of the crowd stayed to watch, taking advantage of the excellent value at £17.50 for the two meetings. Another great move from our forward-thinking promotion.

Ljung's only fall seems to have come in Heat 15 and Lukas wasn't in that race. There is something about Ljung throwing his toys out of the pram after Lukas passed him in Heat 6 - is this the race that you're refering to? Great to hear of the bumper crowd at Lakeside on Good Friday.

Don't have my programme to hand Genghis, but Peter didn't go down, and he didn't throw his toys out of the pram either, he just very wisely throttled off and let Damian go because if he hadn't, he would have just run into him. It was just typical Damian. He's done it to someone pretty much every time I've seen him race. I'm all in favour of hard racing, but he only fences people to disguise his own lack of talent. He barges his way through the field rather than using any kind of skill. Nothing cool about that and someone will get hurt one day.

Munners, Lukas Dryml had a massive amount of talent, had it not been for the run of injuries he sustained in 2003, I think he'd have been World Champion. Remember he was joint top of the World Championship standings (alongside Rickardsson) in early 2003, in just his second season in the GP. At the end of the day, it's a hard sport, and Lukas has been on the receiving end a few times, so it's not like that he hasn't taken what he dishes out.

It's not often I speak out like this, but I really don't like this guy's attitude. It is a hard sport, and he may well have been on the receiving end at times, but that isn't a good enough reason to go around dishing it out! The riders rely on each other not to deliberately ride in an unsafe manner - otherwise they'd never go full throttle. I'm sorry, but I just think he's a twat!

Munners, no worries, I respect your opinion - we'll just disagree on this one as you've suggested. I get the feeling KevH might agree with you
