I don't think Cov have done too much wrong in this particular instance, though the whole rivalry seems to be getting out of hand (not sure if that's more on the BSF than real life?)
There does need to be some sort of independent governance though, that is clear. How you go about changing things though when most promoters seem happy with the status quo is another thing altogether

What with the winter of discontent, the silencer affair, and now this, unless something drastic is done speedway will not survive in this country !!! Matt Ford simply has to go.......he has clearly brought the sport into disrepute, and if he were a rider would be facing a year long ban !!! Six of one and half a dozen to the other. Both sides are at fault, and both deserve to be sanctioned. Quite how you do this when the promoters also administer the sport is very tricky though. Sorry Genghis, but fail to see how Coventry are at fault with this one. Seems to me Matty been caught with his hands in the till so to speak. He can't be kicked out as a promoter, but should certainly be removed from the MC if he has abused his position, and have his AGM voting rights removed for at least 3 seasons.

From the Bees website....
WEDNESDAY AUGUST 31, 2011
COVENTRY Speedway have reported Przemyslaw and Piotr Pawlicki to the BSPA for withholding their services.
The Polish duo have declined to appear in the Buildbase Bees’ away fixture at Swindon on Thursday as they are preparing for their national Final on Saturday.
That meeting, which has recently been re-arranged from its previous mid-August date, would take them out of the Friday and Saturday matches against Eastbourne as part of the normal Federation agreement.
But Coventry are adamant that there is no reason for them to be missing the Swindon match, and wish to take action.
Both riders missed the home-and-away matches against Peterborough on Bank Holiday Monday having been reported injured in the World Under-21 Final round 2 the previous day in Denmark, although reports suggested they were to ride in Sweden on Tuesday. That meeting was rained-off.
Bees co-boss Alun Rossiter said: “It’s a great shame we have to take this action because they are two great lads, but we simply can’t have this lack of commitment. It’s not fair to the club or the supporters.
“We’ve been told they are practising for the Final, but there is no reason why they can’t be at Swindon on Thursday and then back in Poland the following morning. We are trying to reach the play-offs here, and it’s not acceptable.
“I had (Polish rider) Krzysztof Kasprzak lined up to guest at Swindon before he was banned by his Polish club and he had no issue with coming over and racing for us, and I’d confirmed with Birmingham manager Graham Drury that we could use him, so there shouldn’t have been an issue with Poles on Thursday.
“I could just about accept Piotr missing Monday as he did have a crash on Sunday and we had two meetings in a day which was a tough schedule, but what they forget is that there were English officials at that meeting who saw what was going on.
“I can only apologise to the supporters, because we have looked after the riders throughout and we don’t expect to be repaid in this way. We have no alternative but to request a 28-day facility for riders withholding their services.
“We are doing all we can to get a competitive side together for the three meetings in three days coming up, although it’s not easy with there also being a big meeting at Birmingham on Thursday.”

Perhaps the results will get amended?

From Speedway 365:
"Coventry have revealed that their Polish duo Przemyslaw and Piotr no longer face a 28-day ban.
On Wednesday the club released a statement saying that they have been forced to report the duo to the BSPA for withholding their services, the Pawlicki's brothers should have lined up for the Bees in their away meeting against Swindon today (1st) but insted are riding in the Polish U21 Final at Gorzow on Friday night.
Under the BSPA rules the riders are allowed to miss the meeting due to a national commitment but Bees co-promoter Alun Rossiter admitted that he didn't know that the Pawlicki brothers were riding in the meeting.
He said to the Coventry website: "Its an embarrassment, clearly, but we simply didn't know this meeting was in for Friday, and they hadn't told us about it.
"Its a lack of communication that has caused the problem, and we have e-mails, texts etc where we have sent our fixture details, but we're not getting the information back.
"We knew about the senior Final being re-arranged for Saturday, but Friday night at Gorzow was never mentioned.
"We're still not happy with some of the commitment we're seeing, particularly with what happened for the Peterborough matches on Monday, but with this information we do have to accept they will miss tonight.""
With regard to Monday, if the guest was for the injured one that would still be OK wouldn't it?
Would Cov have anything to gain by them being banned? A facility I suppose but it's not like they are going to get a big advantage with the average these guys are on - unless they are due to miss a load of meetings in the next 4 weeks anyway and they would have liked a facility in place?
I'm guessing as usual due to my lack of up to date rules knowledge

Went to Coventry last night. Good meeting, with 17 passes, including 6 from Chris Harris in a guest appearence for the Bees. Interesting to note that Pratty is now Coventry's only listed promoter in the programme. It would seem that Rosco and Trump have had their licenses taken away, for being naughty boys.

That is interesting !!! Why haven't Coventry made this public, I wonder ? The latest PR from Coventry certainly had Trump stamped all over it....I wonder if his bitterness is now influencing (and jeopardising) the entire set-up at Brandon

Not surprised, he's caused so much damage to the sport and doesn't know when to stop.
