BBC Spotlight in the South West tonight reported that Coventry have resigned from the Elite League.
The Coventry website does not confirm or deny this.......I certainly hope it proves to be untrue !!!

Taken from SGP website: FROZEN OUT Britain’s only Grand Prix star Chris Harris is sweating on his Elite League status after admitting he has been blocked from signing for other clubs by the BSPA until Coventry’s future is resolved.
The Brandon outfit have taken legal action against the British governing body after losing their place in the top flight for 2011.
This was after they walked out of the group’s annual meeting in Bournemouth following a dispute with rival promoters over next season’s team-building rules.
The Elite League champions were followed by Peterborough, while Ipswich dropped into the Premier League. But Birmingham and King’s Lynn have stepped up to complete an eight-team top tier.
With each club only allowed to sign one rider with an eight-point-plus average, Harris’ options for finding a new team are rapidly fading.
King’s Lynn have signed Kenneth Bjerre, Lakeside retained Lee Richardson and Swindon have taken on Scott Nicholls to replace the retired Leigh Adams.
Meanwhile, Poole will almost certainly keep Chris Holder, and Freddie Lindgren is the favourite to lead Wolves. Eastbourne are likely to use Danish star Bjarne Pedersen as their No.1, despite his 8.00 average allowing them to add a rider on a higher figure.
With just Belle Vue and Birmingham realistically open to the British champion, Harris fears he could be set for a campaign of just racing for Rzeszow in Poland and Vastervik in Sweden.
He said: “Nothing has happened yet. I’m waiting until Coventry sort out what they are doing. Mr Sandhu is still fighting and once that has been sorted, I’ll decide what I am doing.
“Obviously if it doesn’t work out, I could be without a club. Hopefully it won’t come to that. I have my foreign commitments, but I can’t say that would be enough – I like riding my motorcycle.
“I want to ride as much as I can and if I missed out, it would be a shame because I like riding the bike and I like riding in Britain.”
While Bees asset Nicholls was allowed to join Swindon, Harris says the BSPA have now blocked Coventry-owned riders from holding talks elsewhere until their parent club’s future is sorted.
He said: “I’m not allowed to speak to anyone until this situation is resolved apparently. That’s from the BSPA. No Coventry rider is allowed to speak to anyone. Scott moved before and I think that was okay. But they’ve stopped it for the minute.
“I’m not sure what’s happening and I haven’t got too involved in it. I’m just working hard on the sponsorship side now. I lost one of my main sponsors, so I’m working on finding a new one.”
Nearing a solution for Coventry perhaps???

I don't understand...there seems to be 2 different things going on with Peterborough and Coventry here..... Why haven't the BSPA done the same to us? As far as I was aware Sandhu and Frost walked out for the same reason and are consulting the same lawyers about the same issues..... Why am I getting the feeling things are looking more promising for them than us....??

Hans Andersen falls over a twig and therefore will miss the two Good Friday meetings against the PeatBogHorrors.

The only surprising thing about this is that it has taken so long into the season before finally someone has had enough, and decided to inform us the paying public what is going on. Good on them tell us the facts and let us decide if this is the way we want our sport run.

What with the winter of discontent, the silencer affair, and now this, unless something drastic is done speedway will not survive in this country !!!
Matt Ford simply has to go.......he has clearly brought the sport into disrepute, and if he were a rider would be facing a year long ban !!!

Both sides are at fault, and both deserve to be sanctioned. Quite how you do this when the promoters also administer the sport is very tricky though.
