Well this meeting just about summed up the end to our season. Pretty dreadful. It was a miracle that the meeting was on at all, as the track had been flooded by heavy rain for much of the day. Top marks to our track staff for pulling out all the stops and giving us a surface which although it looked slick, actually produced some good overtaking moves. Unfortunately it was mostly the Eagles overtaking us! We were always going to be up against it after we lost Adam the previous evening at Arlington following a heavy fall. Ed Kennett was a useful guest and he gave it his all, but the track caught him and the rest of our team out. The writing was on the wall when we were on the wrong end of a 5-1 in the opening heat. The Eagles fully deserved their victory over the two legs and I hope they go on to do well in the competition. My parting comment is to say that I hope British speedway firmly closes the door on Zagar in 2011. The man is an absolute disgrace to the sport.

Woo-hoo, way to go Lukas Dryml, paid 9, including beating Lee Richardson in the opening heat. ;D That's no mean feat around the Arena Essex raceway. And then two, yes two, later heat wins. Has Lukas ever done that at Lakeside before? Meanwhile, don't despair Munners, you can't win them all, and you've just had a bad end-of-season. Remember when RR was in charge, it was like that all of the time. No doubt Lakeside will come back fighting next season - the team planning has already started. Douglas / Cook are already planning a route back to the right end of the league table for you.
