They may be riding high at the top of the Elite League. They may have become the first side to take a bonus point from the Poole Pirates. They may have been the first side to avoid defeat at Fortress Wimborne Road. But still, in spite of the above, dear Rosco's not altogether happy. And the object of his concern is the form of Charlie Gjedde, as he told the BBC:
Swindon Speedway boss Alun Rossiter has told Charlie Gjedde to improve or risk losing his place in the team.
The Dane has struggled this season after returning from last year's loan spell at Reading and Rossiter is losing patience.
"The performance of Charlie is getting very worrying, I have to say, he needs to sort himself out pretty quickly otherwise we will have to start looking elsewhere.
"I don't know whether he's got something wrong personally. I know he's had a few mechanical problems but its half-way through the season and he's still having the same problems he had at the beginning. To be honest it's starting to wear a bit thin.
"We're in the position where we're pushing for the lead, we've got our best chance ever and maybe we'll have to be ruthless and do some thing about it."
So, what's gone wrong with Gjedde, a rider some were tipping for GP greatness not to long ago?

Not sure i know the answer to that Sub, last season he wasnt actually pulling up trees, but done a decent job for the Bulldogs as a heat leader, but this season, and on his favourite track, hes been quite appalling, maybe a spell in reserve would do him good

His bikes looked slow for the first part of the season but I think that was not the main reason. For some reason he didn't look interested, the body language was all wrong and when interviewed sounded as if it was all too much trouble. I'm hoping that after Monday he has turned the corner and we will get to see the Charlie of 2005 again.

You just wanna hope that he doesn't choke in the play-off final again this year as he did in the away leg last season!

Well he looks a little more fired up since dropping down to reserve, hopefully this is the old Charlie.

Charlie had a poor start but he has always been the same - and dogged by awful injury at crucial times in his earlier career.

And looks like he will be at a pointless meeting in Denmark instead of WImborne Road this week. Leaving us with our no.8

Oo er. This isn't going to make me too popular, but Charlie is Danish after all. Or is there more to this story than meets the eye? I assume Rosco had a copy of Charlie's Danish fixtures and that this one hasn't been rearranged? I look at it the other way - if Nicholls, Richardson, Kennett etc were riding in Poland, Denmark - wherever - and had a fixture clash, I'd expect them to ride for their country first and foremost. I appreciate Swindon fans frustrations as it's an important fixture for you, but with all due respect, Wednesday has always been Danish league day (usually) so it shouldn't have been a surprise.

I think it's more the fact that the DMU aren't bothered either way but he's decided himself that he'd rather be in Denmark.

Think part of the problem might have been all the chaos with the Danish league.First it was cancelled, then it was on.So the fixtures were released late.It is a home meeting for Charlie and he is the only A grade rider Outrup have so it is probably important for them in attracting a crowd and maybe for him with his sponsors. But really they could get someone else in as a guest as they have nothing really to gain and Charlie could be helping Swindon towards the title. It is easy to criticise but we probably don't know all the ins and outs of why he is making these decisions.Sure isn't making himself popular with the one set of fans he is popular with(in the EL)

Sure isn't making himself popular with the one set of fans he is popular with(in the EL) Nor his club's management!
