I don't really know what to say about this to be honest. Great performances from Rico and Peter on their old stomping ground. Rico got a superb reception from the Robins fans, but Peter got the opposite, and made sure he had the last word on track With JD we would probably have beaten them, but with Adam writing off one bike in a big smash and having mechanical gremlins with the other, we were really up against it. Robbo had one EF and two falls on a track which was wet and slippery all night thanks to a burst pipe earlier on in the day. As I said before on the Lakeside thread, I think that on this form, we'd have been demolished by Poole so I'm glad that the play offs will now be a great challenge between four on form teams. That doesn't make me any less gutted that we lost out on the last day of the league though. All attention now turns to the KOC. We are away at Eastbourne on 23rd September and host them at the Arena the following night. It will be very tight over the two legs, but I think we'll just edge it. I'm hoping that JK will be more concerned with winning the World Longtrack title and won't ride the Arena like we know he can. Fingers crossed!

However, if its agreed to race at Lakeside on September 17, they might have to go without track specialist and Hammers asset Joonas Kylmakorpi.

Seems there's more chance of seeing a dodo than seeing him at an Elite League track this year! What's his excuse this time? I do hope no-one signs him for next year. His attitude to English speedway stinks!

He is an Eastbourne fans favourite, they love him down in sunny Sussex by the sea.. ;D And yes, Shieldsy's bike was pretty bent by all accounts, front wheel shoved behind the engine.. Ouchie

That and I wouldn't want to deny the lovely JK of the chance of a world title

However, if its agreed to race at Lakeside on September 17, they might have to go without track specialist and Hammers asset Joonas Kylmakorpi. The date of the 24th will not be changed. Eastbourne cancelled the first leg at 24hours notice and our management gave their Eastbourne counterparts the option of running both legs back to back on the 16th/17th or 23/24. They chose the latter. It now appears that they did so without the knowledge that their occasional no1 was not going to be present. That's not our problem.
