And as voted by you guys, the Mutt's Nuts is also swtiching to a monthly comp.
Star Lady, I know you're a fan of the Mutt's Nuts section, would you like to pick the inaugural monthly winner at the end of the month?

If I may,I`d like to nominate all the people involved at Newport who bought and erected the floodlights so we can have night time racing. Saves me buying them a pint ;D

I'm going for a Moto2 nomination, and put forward Scott Redding.
The kid is 17 years of age, was involved in a horrific fatal track accident on Sunday, and although initially questioned his future on 2 wheels is hoping to be back on track practicing next week and lining up on the grip at Aragon next weekend.
Scott is a real talent, it would have been such a shame to lose him from the sport, but totally understandable given the circumstances. So fair play Scott Redding...... get out there next weekend and do it for Tomi!

Dear Wacky.. I understand where you are comming from but this is a Speedway chatroom! That it may be Mr Panther, but there are sections on Football, F1 and Other Sports on here too, so I think Wacks is perfectly entitled to make the nomination. Non-speedway related nominations have, I believe, been put forward for both Mutts Nutts and Flapperjack before!

With so few nominations, I'm gonna add my own....wonder who will take the title ;D
I nominate Dan Holt for having the testicular fortitude to make some bloody hard decisions last night. Can't say I agreed with all of them (thought Bjarne was at fault not Harris) but he had explanations for them all, many a ref just says "Cos I say so".

Tomasz Gollob, for fulfilling his own and thousands of others dreams by becoming World Speedway Champion in his usual flamboyant and exciting style.
Living legend.

Rico Shame he injured King Emil along the way. That takes the gloss off Gollob's win a little bit. Nice to see Gollob finally become World Champion, but that's the only time he'll do it. Very much a one-time winner. Against a fully fit Crump or Sayfutdinov, he'd have no chance.

Well it's the last day of September and if anyone wants to make another nomination - tough - you've had 29 days to do it in ;D Not a lot to choose from and I've decided non speedway nominees will not be considered so the results are drum roll another drum roll a blast of bag pipes (just to be different) in 3rd place all those at Newport who helped to install lights. I can't abide daytime speedway in 2nd place Thomasz Gollob who might well have managed first if he hadn't ridden thro a couple of riders (completely unnecessarily) on his way to the title. It remains to be seen if he will be as good as an ambassaddor for the sport as his predecessor. Therefore in first place, Dan Holt. Whether you think his decisions were right or wrong is not the issue. He upheld the rules as they are in the rule book, he did it consistently. He listened patiently to the riders and attempted to explain his thinking and IMHO was a total professional. It's a pity a few other referees don't do the same.
