So here it is - the all-new, all-dancing FOTM competition.
Munners, would you like to pick the winner at the end of the month?

I would like to nominate all the non-shows who turned what should have been a cracking EL pairs into a bit of a non-event.

The marshalls & medics at Misano, who literally threw Shoya Tomizawa (RIP) and Scott Redding onto stretchers to clear the track during yesterdays GP race. I don't think it would have made a difference to the sad outcome considering Tomi's injuries, but for fucks sake, do they not consider spinal injuries when a rider has been thrown 40 meters down track after crashing at 150MPH!!!!

Blimey, didn't realise they had done that Read that yesterday, very sad indeed. Apparently photos had been posted on the internet, but got removed.....

Pip, the race steward would generally take instruction from the doctor, who is probably in Dorna's pocket!

I reckon it's bollocks too about there being no need to cancel the main GP race, Tomi may have been pronounced dead in hospital at 2:30pm local time, but he was being resusitated off track and in the medical centre before they even got him to the hospital! Sadly, I believe his death was pretty instant, but Dorna are worse than BSI for squeezing every last dollar out of their championship, it would probably have cost them big time if the GP had been cancelled out of respect. Some good needs to come out of this, speedway is probably regarded as a third rate motor sport compared to MotoGP and uses medical volunteers from the Red Cross and St Johns as medical back up, but never once have I seen a speedway rider who has fallen, thrown onto a stretcher before being thoroughly checked for possible injuries first. The medic/marshalls crass actions in the way they handled Scott Redding and Shoya Tomizawa probably wouldn't of had any bearing on the final outcome, but it's good to see the incident is being investigated at least. www.crash.net/motogp/news/163063/1/prosecutor_considers_action_over_tomizawa_death.html

Well I'm already fed up with the arrogance and smugness of certain Coventry supporters, don't know about anyone else. I have always felt that Poole (with 2 front runners) top the arrogance chart, but boy it's hard to chose between the 2 clubs now.

Whilst Shovlar continues to post his bile on BSF then Poole will always be the most arrogant. I'll nominate Shovlar again for his usual anti-Coventry obsession.

Well, it's the end of the month, so I guess it's time to announce the winner. Not many nominations, but some worthy ones nonetheless.
I want to make special mention of whoever it is that puts the Super7 events together. Not sure if that's the BSPA or BSI or someone else entirely, but whoever it is needs to do more to make sure that these events are improved, both in terms of line ups and overall presentation. The pairs was a poor showing and I doubt that the ERC will be much better.
Peterborough have shown they are capable of putting on a real 'show' with the World Cup event last year, so lets hope they do this one justice, and that they serve up a decent race surface! If they don't, I fear these special events will disappear from the speedway calendar altogether, and we can't afford for this sport to diminish any further.
The FOM award for September though goes to everyone involved in the MotoGP disgrace at Misano. Everyone played a part, from the promoters to the stewards and medical officials on the day. Bad decisions were made at every turn it seems, and lots of people should probably carry the can for that. RIP Shoya.
